Meet Jade Posey

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jade Posey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Jade, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
I have had somewhat of a tough life. Raised by a single mom mostly life. She was married, divorced and started another relationship yet it failed. In my eyes all I ever really had was my mom and some men to be around and try to positively influence me. Again, life already had it’s claws in me. I grew up in a trailer park. I was heavily influence by my peers which meant underage use of drugs, kissing boys and girls, running from the cops, and even being sexually assaulted at a young age. To moving to the upper side of trying to find myself and turning my life around. Fast forward I made it through high school to not quit finishing but starting my journey in the college scene. I wanted to make a difference always. I’ve always had so many ideas and been really creative. Through my outspoken words, photographs, music, and knowledge of the unknown and known. I believe life will put you through hell but if you’re determined you will get through it and come out the other side stronger. We live everyday so why not make the most of it! Take the chance! The risk! Strive and fail forward!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an entrepreneur above all! I started off trying to get into school as an esthetician. I am really passionate about the skin. As I grew up with acne and am mixed ethnicity. My confidence and self esteem wasn’t always so high. I wanted others to feel beautiful in their skin. Unfortunately, after enrolling I wasn’t able to join at the time. So I started doing freelance modeling. It was an outlet. That turned into a hobby. That turned into me being published and broadcasted. Whatever I do I want to be a voice, and help others. I became pregnant and it shifted my goals, because just then I became pregnant again and joined school to get my medical assistant. I worked at a holistic doctors office for a few months but he wanted me to be more trained. All places I went to did. Which is rather hard when you’re a few months out of school. My first born developed febrile seizures, as I was working in nursing homes and as an independent provider. I loved what I did. I love my patients. Most of them were immobile. Back to my son and him having seizures i too became a single mom and had to call off of work which lead me into becoming an solo entrepreneur opening up a cleaning business. I started going to college again and gained my business AA after leaving the nursing program. I still was passionate about the skin and was determined to become an esthetician. I now and two weeks from graduating. In the mean I have a lounge outside of my home I practice in because as they say, start before you’re ready. Hints where I got my business name, Jj’s Lounge! I now obtain my phlebotomy licenses, notary signer license, and a few weeks out from my esthetician. I will be specializing in waxing, lashes, facials and back facials! Back facials if you don’t know what it is, you should most definitely find out! Again, I want to help people. Educate them. Education is so important. I want others to feel beautiful in their skin and be able to relax. Where beauty meets relaxation!! My tag line . Going natural and going on the journey and practice of it all it can be obtained, corrected, admired, and loved through your skin and body!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Just start! If you have the curiosity. The will, or just want to start or know about something, do it! I have changed my career plans over and over. Eventually in all reality they align to one another. I have moved 3 states and started over time and time again. My passion is REAL! My passion is my purpose. Nothing or no one will get in my way. Sometimes my kids haha. But if you have a village you can make it happen. If all you have is yourself you will find your people I promise! Just stay true to you. Education is key. Knowledge can be of ignorance. But in the right mind it can be a powerful tool.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In closing, gosh I shared a lot and there’s so many details and so many things to say. So circling back in summary. The world is a crazy place but it only takes one to change the world. I have had a crazy life. I may have not have see a lot of states and places, bucket list but I have lived life. My childhood overall was good. It definitely shiped and shaped me. I believe I am only not book smart, but street smart as well. I am clean and sober for 6 years and some change now. It doesn’t define me but from all the scars I carry I was able to heal and grow. I am a mother of three precious boys. Originally I was born in California, grew up mostly in Arizona. Lived in Washington for seven years. Resign in good ol San Antonio Texas. It will be two years in July! I have several certifications, licenses and one degree. I have always been more introverted but if you ask me something I’ll tell it like it is. Getting out of my own way and always striving forward I have opened up and met a lot more people. Networking is one of my hobbies now. I have meet some great people who encouraged me to get back to my passion. Who have loved my family like their own. Because my family is not here, in other states. I always say grow or go. I want to change and grow everyday. I want to be a positive influence on others or have them learn from my story. I have meet others who want to do the same. It only takes one person to change the world! But when you get a group together man the possibilities can be endless!! So I am apart of two nonprofits. Hopefully, more in the future to help the underdogs, the less fortunate and those needing guidance. Finishing school for what I’ve been wanting to do for so long is so overlong due but equally exciting and scary at the same time. I want a voice. I have one. I am networking and learning how to use it. Will there be a book. Everyone should write a book so stay tuned. Overall it is about the people. The community. Growing from house to house. Breaking chains, creating generation wealth, and abundance! I know God has me. I know not all bad last forever. It is rather a moment and people can get through almost anything and everything. Don’t let the world dim your light. If you want something take it! Work hard for it. Hard work always pays off. Determination and have a lion heart. Yes, I am to be an esthetician but that is not all. Yes I am a mother but that is not all. Yes I had a crazy past but that does not define me. Yes this past year was hard but this year will be better. Onward and forward, one foot Infront of another. In anything you do, don’t forget to stop and appreciate the beauty around you. Within yourself and to smile and laugh.
