We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jaime Nacach . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jaime below.
Jaime, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
I have always considered myself a creative individual. Before Virtual Latinos, my first business was a digital marketing agency, which tends to be a very creative industry. My interest has consistently revolved around the creative process of generating new ideas and maintaining a visionary mindset. I often credit the birth of Virtual Latinos to the blend of my creativity and business strategy experience.
Keeping my creativity alive is a dynamic process for me. One key aspect is maintaining a diverse range of influences. I love surrounding myself with knowledgeable individuals, both within and outside my team, drawing inspiration from their unique perspectives. Learning from others and staying open to different viewpoints helps fuel my creativity.
Additionally, I lean on inspiration from all corners by staying curious. Constantly seeking new experiences, staying updated on industry trends, and exploring areas beyond my comfort zone all contribute to keeping my mind fresh and creative.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Absolutely! I am the proud Founder and CEO of Virtual Latinos. We are a virtual recruitment agency specializing in connecting businesses and entrepreneurs in the US and Canada with highly skilled virtual assistants and professionals from Latin America.
I would say that what sets us apart and makes our work so exciting is the unique blend of talent, cultural affinity, and cost-effectiveness that we bring to the table. Our mission is to help our clients and professionals elevate their levels of freedom, growth, and success by bridging the gap between businesses in need of top-notch virtual support and talented professionals in Latin America seeking their dream remote job. We believe in creating win-win scenarios, empowering both businesses and individuals to thrive in the virtual workspace.
The most exciting aspect of what we do is witnessing the transformative impact on both sides. Businesses gain access to a pool of skilled and dedicated Latin professionals who bring a fresh perspective and cultural understanding. Meanshile, our talented professionals in Latin America seize opportunities to showcase their expertise on a global scale and earn competitive, above-average salaries compared to those in Latin American countries.
We take pride in fostering a diverse and inclusive community, embracing the strengths that come from different backgrounds and experiences. Our commitment to excellence, passion, and collaboration has been the driving force behind Virtual Latinos’ success.
An important achievement I’m excited to share is that Virtual Latinos recently achieved the 80th position on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States. This milestone fills us with immense pride, serving as tangible proof of our team’s relentless hard work and unwavering dedication. We had the chance to collectively celebrate this achievement last month, in October 2023, during our annual VL Summit, held in Cancun, Mexico. This gathering provided us with an opportunity to reconnect and further our collaboration on exciting new projects.
Moreover, as we continue to grow and evolve, we hold the ambitious vision of transforming the lives of 1 million people over the next decade through the creation of more meaningful virtual working relationships. It’s a goal that we pursue and work towards daily, and I’m excited to keep you informed about our progress and our journey in future interviews.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, it is not easy to name only three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge, as it has been a learning experience and the sum of multiple factors. However, if I had to name some that have been particularly impactful, they would be the following:
1. Adaptability: The business landscape, especially the digital realm, is ever-changing, and adaptability has been crucial. The ability to pivot, learn from challenges, and remain resilient has enabled me to navigate the dynamic nature of entrepreneurship. For instance, since our inception in 2018, Virtual Latinos has continuously adapted to various work methodologies within remote work, embracing new tools as they emerged to better suit our needs. Additionally, we’ve encountered the need to adjust processes or strategies that previously served us well but became less effective as our company grew. Such changes often bring uncertainty.
Therefore, my advice to those starting their journey is to cultivate a mindset of adaptability. Embrace change, evolve, and most importantly, don’t be afraid to adjust your strategies when needed.
2. Passion: When discussing my vision and goals for Virtual Latinos, people often highlight the noticeable passion I have for my work and the purpose of Virtual Latinos. This passion is deeply rooted in my genuine love for what I do. It may sound like a cliché, but my advice to any fellow entrepreneur stepping into this journey is to chase something that genuinely ignites your passion. Especially if you have the chance, go for it! Because not everyone gets that opportunity.
For me, my passion provides an inherent drive to grow, leading me to pursue new practices and approaches, fostering innovation, and resulting in the development of better solutions. This is why Passion and the Drive to Grow stand as two core values at Virtual Latinos.
3. Empathy and Humility: I strongly believe that in the world of business and entrepreneurship, staying humble and valuing the human side of interactions are crucial aspects. It means demonstrating empathy and establishing genuine connections with the people you work with, truly understanding their viewpoints, feelings, and life experiences. My advice for those starting out would be to embrace humility by always being open to learning from everyone, no matter their role or knowledge. This approach contributes immensely to nurturing successful, collaborative, and meaningful relationships.
Similarly, having empathy is key – it helps us recognize that making mistakes is a natural part of being human. Equally important is having the humility to acknowledge our own errors. Reflecting on my past, I realize there were numerous situations where I might have chosen a different approach. Nonetheless, I hold onto a cherished phrase: ‘Do not judge the ignorance of your past with the knowledge of your present.’ It’s essential to remember that, particularly on the entrepreneurial path, mistakes are an inherent part of the journey.
