Meet Jake Blucker

We recently connected with Jake Blucker and have shared our conversation below.

Jake, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose in November of 2020 when I realized I needed a life change and something so much more. I gave my life to Christ and started serving Him fervently in every circumstance. I was able to start using the creative gifts I’ve been blessed with for a better purpose. I’ve taken over my church’s social media and with help from a team around me, we have changed the dynamic with how we create content. I’m blessed with the ability to combine photography and videography duties and create inspiring content for our church. I approach it with a brand mentality and add a lifestyle touch to it for those outside our congregation to see what all we have to offer.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hello everyone, Jake Blucker here. I own two businesses, a painting company and a media company. While owning two businesses comes is a great blessing, life can be stressful at times due to the little amount of free time I have. Balancing work, church and hobbies, can be very challenging in all with only having 24 hours in the day but it trains us to create time management skills and prioritize what truly matters.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
– Time Management – Risk Taking
– Follow your passions

These three values I learned over the course of the passed 7 years. Balancing your time allows you to stay free from anxiety and take control of other areas of life. I’m able to spend time with friends, do my hobbies and also prioritize and maintain relationships with others.

Taking risks is what helps us grow. The moment we step out of our comfort zone and say “yes” to whatever God has in store for us, we experience what it’s like to live in His will. For me, I had to take a step of faith in buying my painting business from a good friend of mine. There was a lot of question whether I would succeed or not. But after discussions with others and seeking wise counsel, it helped me make that decision easier. “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” – Wayne Gretzky

To me following your passions means find a hobby and look for a way to capitalize on it. Photography became a hobby of mine in 2015 and after years of experience, it has opened up many doors for me. The biggest one being a brand partner with the Cincinnati Reds, my favorite baseball team. Follow your passions and find others who are doing them as well. Work together and create something unique and people will notice what you’re doing.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My number one challenge right now is getting my team of employees to a level where I can leave them alone and I can go out and do other things. At the moment I’m patiently training them to reach that level.
