We were lucky to catch up with James Cox recently and have shared our conversation below.
James, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’ve always been brought up being taught if you do you something do it correctly. My dad is a retired colonel in the Air Force and he always did whatever he did and he did it 100%.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a podcast host that hosts the “When Words Fail Music Speaks” podcast.
It’s a Podcast were me and my cohost Blake Moseley and I discussed how music helps with depression and anxiety!
We’ve been doing this for three years so we have over 280 episodes so far. We interviewed musicians and talk about what they do and why do you do it and music that they listen to whenever they are depressed or have anxiety..
We feel it is beneficial to our listeners because it takes them away the problem that they have for that hour or two or however, much they listen to us..
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Do not worry what other people think of you or if you think that they are doing better than you.
Just because they are doing a little bit better than you at doing something; doesn’t mean that you are aren’t doing what you are doing at that exact point.
Keep grinding, you will get there!
My best advice on how to do this is “focus only on you…not on the objects around you.”
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are looking for anybody to partner up with or to sponsor us. Music is worldwide, and it involves everybody and so do we!
