Jamya, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Inspiration and my imagination play a big part in keeping my creativity alive. My mind always opens up as I’m around things that are interesting or unique. The smallest details help channel my creative side from colors to patterns; it’s like I’m taking a look into someone else’s world. Inspiration is everywhere and I’m happy to be able to bring something new to the scene.

No two people see anything the same way. We’re surrounded by so much and that helps me be open to exploring new ideas. I draw inspiration from just about anything and it helps push my creativity. It helps keep me intrigued with what’s going on around me. I’m always open to trying new things to help bring my dreams to life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the CEO of AMOURMYHAIR, which is an online hair company offering a variety of high-quality and affordable products. We sell everything you could ask for from hair products to lashes and hot tools.  Oh, and I can’t forget about hair accessories. Currently, we are gearing up to launch our next big project, which will change the game for the girls. I always strive to make things bigger and better for AMOURMYHAIR. This has been a journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.

I have been in the beauty industry for the past 7 years, and I can say that I’m proud of how far I’ve come. It’s not easy being an entrepreneur. You not only have to keep up with the latest trends, but you have to find creative ways to market your business for expansion. I’m proud to say that we’ve shipped to many places all over the world, including Italy, Canada, California, Arkansas, and North Carolina. Seeing how far AMOURMYHAIR is reaching excites me and keeps me going. I can see the growth for years to come, and I strive daily for bigger and better. AMOURMYHAIR will be the next big thing, so you should tap in with us for the best hair necessities.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three most important qualities that were impactful on my journey as an entrepreneur would have to be:

1. Setting myself apart from the competition. This is extremely important because there are so many similar businesses, but what can I do to make people choose AMOURMYHAIR over the competition? My goal is always to stand out and offer quality products and services.

2. Keeping things fresh and exciting. It’s so easy to get bored if you’re doing the same thing day in and day out, so I always ensure I add a little razzle-dazzle. This is what helps separate what I do from just a job to a passion. I love having the ability to add new skills and new routines to help bring in more clients.

3. And last, but definitely not least, self-discipline. I am constantly reminding myself why I started my business. It helps motivate me and keeps me on track to not only meet my goals but to be a successful entrepreneur.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
The number one obstacle I am facing today is trying not to be so hard on myself. I want to be successful, but I realize that success sometimes comes with failure. Often, I make sure to take a step back to celebrate my accomplishments no matter how big or small they may be. Every day, I am awarded with a new opportunity to be one step closer to my dream. That alone deserves its recognition.
