Ja’Shanna, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Shanna Shine LLC. did the work on herself for years. She had to go through the lowest of lows and ups in life. Who can sit down, open up their world and reveal times of feeling nothingness and still proceed through life? It takes courage, boldness, and strength. It takes a lot to sit with yourself in a quiet room and listen to all the thoughts that come up good and bad.
I had a strong desire to grow. I wanted that life I knew I needed. Then I consciously look at the patterns and cycles in my life and family. I then decided and knew there was more to life and stayed persistent. Because as you go through life you will grow and or change. Now in what way… that part is based on the person.
A few years ago, I met the wonderful and amazing Jahnique (Jenny) and realized we both have relatable stories. Through our chats, we knew we needed support from each other. We decided to join forces and have been pushing barriers down together with “Girl You Guess’d It LLC” and in our individual lives. We still have our moments when we are not feeling it but we encourage each other and keep pressing.
Self-esteem is something you developed through experience. Loving yourself is a self thing. You have to constantly take care and nourish yourself. You can’t rely on other people to build your happiness. Your environment plays a big role in who you surround yourself with. We are all about the community being empowered while building our esteem together. We know you are not alone and that comfort brings out even greater confidence in you.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What makes Shanna Shine LLC special is I knew I wasn’t the only one going through many challenges in life. So what did I do? I had to go find the NEW ME. You can’t go back to the old you but you can redefine you from where you are. So I asked myself: who am I? And what do I want to represent and leave in this world? That was the mission: I analyzed my actions, eliminate negative thoughts, replaced them with positive ones, and most importantly increased my faith by learning my identity in Christ. Based on my relationship and not what I was told or shown. I accepted myself in all areas beauty, health, appearance, professional goals, etc.
The many dialogues I have had throughout the years. I end up sharing things about myself to encourage others. Most of the responses I would hear were “Wow, you went through all of that? You don’t look like it.! Most asked, “How did you move forward?” I decided to write my book and it ended up into a collection of reflective tools and resources for everyone to sit and evaluate themself starting at age 14 and up!

Girl You Guess’d It LLC is excited because this is our real journey, our life that we are currently going through. And everyone gets to encounter it along with us as we are discovering. We are wide open and transparent for all to see errors and successes. We learned to revamp in the middle of building and creating. Some things won’t work and that’s okay. You have to learn during the expedition. We have developed a platform that is real and able to connect with people.
A while back we met through a mutual friend and shortly after ended up in a business meeting together. The opportunity presented itself and we decide to unite to bring positive influence in the world and our vision gets bigger and bigger. We have a divine connection that is not just for us but for the world.
GYGI has our 1st commercial launch this year. We hope to become a non-profit or be connected to a non-profit to support the community and the vision that we have as we are building an empire. There is no limit for both businesses.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three key qualities are patience, meek, and adaptability. Patience is needed in all areas of life. Things will not go according to what you plan, So breathe, do your part, pray, and stay hopeful. Last year we were growing a platform with 2 Seasons being completed called “Girl Guess What” and hundreds of people already knew us. Then having to revamp while dealing with life obstacles was a lot for us. This is how Girl, You Guess’d It came from adapting and being very fluent with each other in communication.
Our skills and area of knowledge collectively are content creation, journalism, videographer, photography, administration, graphics, speaking, motivating, and so much more. We are increasing our knowledge and skills in branding, marketing, videography, and whatever else is needed. We are the business so we play many roles.
The best advice is to master discipline. When you become disciplined you receive motivation, consistency, time management, confidence, opportunities, and so much more that will manifest from you staying the course. Also, practice patience so you can remove eagerness and be content in the process.
