We were lucky to catch up with Jasna Boudard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasna, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I’ve been a photographer since my teenage years, and have worked in numerous fields including the fashion industry, travel documentary, and the commercial, editorial, and art worlds. It was hard to decide which one I liked best but more importantly, which one allowed me to serve a greater purpose.
It wasn’t until I attended a wedding in Bangladesh (where I absolutely loved experiencing its vibrant culture) that I had the inspiration to move there and start my. wedding photography business. At the time, I was one of the only female photographers serving brides in a Muslim country and discovered a great need for my services. But I didn’t wanna limit myself to just that niche, As someone who is multi-cultural, I wanted to use my unique perspective and experience to serve the greater population of multi-cultural brides. I believe there is unity in diversity, and wanted my brand to represent how love is celebrated throughout all cultures of the world.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My name is Jasna Boudard.
I’m an award-winning photographer and the founder of Travel Weddings.
Originally French and Bangladeshi, I grew up discovering the world (I have visited 35 countries so far and fluently speak English, French, Spanish, and Bangla). My mixed heritage and extensive travels have taught me to celebrate diversity. I truly believe that despite all our differences, love unites us.
Through photography and films, I explore the ways in which love manifests in various cultures. I even hope to create a book on it someday! My work has taken me across the USA, Mexico, France, Spain, Greece, Morocco, Costa Rica, Colombia, Japan, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
I am based in Austin, Texas and will happily meet you anywhere!
Aside from my business, I also do creative work. Feel free to visit my art website: https://jasna-boudard.com
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Be loving, be respectful, be sincere.
Most of my clients found their way to me not simply because of the quality of my work, but also because of who I am as a human. I care so much about being of service that I’ve even helped out brides who were not my clients, and this good karma led to multiple referrals and bookings. When your heart is in the right place, you attract everything that is meant for you.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a lot like me!
Someone who is easy going, appreciates quality, knows how to have fun, is loving and cares about relationships, and ideally a world traveler or someone who honors cultural traditions, When my ideal clients find their way to me, we become and remain friends long after their wedding day.
