We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jason Kramer. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jason below.
Jason, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I was under chiropractic care in undergrad and the Doctor and I became buddies. He asked me one day what I thought I wanted to do with my life. After talking and telling him I wanted to do something meaningful that would make a difference in peoples lives he told me I needed to be a chiropractor. I sarcastically told him ‘no, I mean a real difference… not just get people out of pain’.
A week later I shadowed him and found the majority of people came in to see him not for pain but for but for all other health-related issues. Whole families came in including newborn babies, teenagers, parents and grandparents. When talking with the families they explained all the health improvements they had experienced while being under care from breathing/allergy/asthma problems to sleeping difficulty sleeping, headaches and digestive issues. I almost didn’t believe them. After the shift I asked what sort of voodoo he was doing to get all these people to where they are and he explained very clearly, God created our bodies to self-regulate and self-heal. When our nervous system is interfered with then the our bodies have a difficult time, breakdown happens and then symptoms arise. Put another way, ‘God made the body, God heals the body. The chiropractors job is to remove the interference.
That’s something I knew I could get on board with. Enter my purpose… a way to make a difference.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Our vision is to create connection in order to build community. We just happen to get to do that through our mission… chiropractic. Providing natural healthcare via some of the most specific and researched base chiropractic available.
Creating a culture of natural health and providing options other than drugs and medications to what has become one of the sickest generations in history is something we work towards daily.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Learning to really listen to patients, figuring out their needs and their goals and address the root cause of health issues and then providing clinical results through specific chiropractic has been a long journey. One that will continue to be learned and fine-tuned. I think families are sick and tired of being sick and tired and are searching for (natural) options that allow their family to live a life full of their God-given potential.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
Getting parents to understand what chiropractic really is and how important it is for the health of their entire family. Using chiropractic only for pain is like taking your car to the mechanic and not letting them look under the hood. Real chiropractic is about detecting and correcting roadblocks in the nervous system to allow for higher potential and function and communication throughout the brain and body. Real chiropractic is about knowing the body was created to self-regulate and self-heal and helping it get back there and then getting out of the way.
