Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jason Nunez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Jason, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
As a busy professional, it can be a struggle to find an assistant you can trust and relate to. That’s the basis for how I find my purpose. My name is Jason Nunez, and as a 3rd Generation and 20-year Air Force Veteran, I understand the importance of Relatability, Reliability, and Reputability.

With my experience, I founded Go Digital Hero, a team of vetted, US-based virtual assistants. My entire team is composed 100% of LGBT, Veteran, and Ethnic minorities. Our mission is to provide top-notch virtual assistance to a community that looks just like us so they can be freed to focus on the things that matter most to them.

My joy comes from seeing my clients get excited about having the time to focus on their priorities. At Go Digital Hero, we solve the problem of busy professionals struggling to find a virtual assistant that is relatable, reliable, and reputable.

I founded Go Digital Hero because, having served under dont ask dont tell, i was unable to be my true and authentic self. I was put in a box and lived a different persona for each crowd in my life. Family, friends, coworkers, even strangers. After the Repeal of Dont Ask Dont Tell, I was able to serve freely and experienced a freedom that i have not felt before.

Since then, I have filled many administrative roles within uniformed, government, contract, and non-profit sectors. Leveraging 18+ years experience, I have first hand experience how time consuming tedious administrative tasks and how they can stop you from being Free. Free to go to soccer practice and be a hero to your child; free to go in a date with your significant other; free for selfcare and make a massage appointment to be a hero to yourself . Go Digital Hero is fully equipped with the tools, knowledge, and passion to help you thrive both at work and at home.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Jason Núñez, founder and CEO of Go Digital Hero, is more than just a successful entrepreneur—he embodies resilience and the pursuit of freedom. As a third-generation minority Air Force veteran, Jason’s remarkable career includes working at the Pentagon and serving in key roles at the White House, State Department, and Department of Labor. Throughout his military journey, Jason faced the challenges of “don’t ask, don’t tell,” however, the repeal of this policy marked a turning point, allowing him to embrace his true self with pride. Jason emerged as a vibrant force, embracing freedom and embodying the importance of authentic self-expression.

With Go Digital Hero, Jason goes beyond providing administrative support. He becomes a catalyst for liberation, freeing clients from the overwhelm of administrative tasks. By taking on these burdens, he empowers his clients to focus on what truly matters in their lives. Jason’s commitment to being a hero for others stems from his understanding that true freedom lies in being present for the people and experiences that bring joy and fulfillment. Go Digital Hero stands out by solving crucial problems in organization and time management. Recognizing the struggles many face in maintaining order and managing time effectively, Jason brings structure and efficiency to his clients’ lives. He serves as a true partner in their journey towards work-life balance.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Jason embraces life’s adventures. Together with his husband Jacob, he explores diverse cultures and indulges in global cuisine. With his cherished fur babies, Atlas and Aspen, by his side, Jason creates a nurturing environment where freedom extends to every member of his family, be they human or four-legged.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
As I reflect on my journey to freedom, I am grateful for the three skills that have had the most significant impact: Faith, Family, and Humility. These qualities have shaped my perspective, guided my decisions, and enabled me to overcome the challenges I have faced.

Faith has been the cornerstone of my life. As a Catholic Christian, I have centered my existence on developing a personal relationship with a higher power. I believe that the same God who called upon individuals like Jacob, David, and Mary has also been by my side, assisting me along this journey from trauma to triumph. Through my faith, I have found solace, strength, and purpose, even in the darkest moments.

Next, I cannot understate the importance of family. They have been my rock, my anchor, and my foundation. Even when their words felt like swift kicks in the butt, their love and support never wavered. They have been there through every high and low, cheering me on, offering guidance, and reminding me of my worth. Their constant presence has provided me with a sense of belonging and a deep well of strength.

Lastly, I have come to appreciate the power of humility. It was not an easy lesson to learn, as it required many failures and humbling experiences. However, I have grown to understand that I cannot do everything alone. Embracing humility has enabled me to acknowledge my limitations and seek help when needed. It has allowed me to learn from others, open my mind to new perspectives, and maintain a balanced approach to life’s challenges.

Looking back, these skills have brought me closer to freedom and empowerment. My faith has given me the courage to persevere, my family has been the constant support system I needed, and humility has taught me the value of collaboration and self-awareness. By cultivating these qualities, I have been able to emerge triumphantly from difficult circumstances.

As I continue on my journey, I am grateful for the impact of faith, family, and humility. They have shaped me into the person I am today, providing me with the tools I need to overcome obstacles and embrace the freedom that comes with personal growth. May these skills continue to guide me and inspire others on their respective journeys.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My heart swells with gratitude and deep emotion as I reflect on the impactful things my parents have done for me. Their love and support have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am forever indebted to them.

First and foremost, my father’s tough love has been a driving force in my life. Despite my initial rebellion against his decision, he pushed me into the military, knowing it was the path that would teach me discipline and instill a strong work ethic. It was through his guidance and unwavering belief in me that I was able to serve God and Country as a Chaplain Assistant in the United States Air Force for 20 years. The lessons of discipline and work ethic he imparted have stayed with me throughout my life, enabling me to face challenges head-on and accomplish feats I never thought possible. His tough love may not have been comfortable at the time, but I now recognize its profound impact on my personal growth and success.

Equally instrumental in my journey has been my mother’s unwavering steadiness. She has always been a pillar of strength and a beacon of faith. Her steadfast devotion to her beliefs and her constant presence in my life have been sources of comfort and inspiration. No matter the circumstances, she has never left my side, offering unwavering love and support. She has created a safe space for me, where I can openly share my joys, hurts, disappointments, and everything in between, without fear of judgment. Her presence and understanding have been my refuge in times of need, providing the reassurance and encouragement I needed to keep pushing forward.

The impact of my parents’ love and support is immeasurable. Through my father’s tough love, I gained the qualities necessary to serve my country and my faith with honor and distinction. Through my mother’s unwavering steadiness, I found solace and unwavering support in every step of my journey. Their sacrifices and guidance have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful.

I hold these memories close to my heart, and as I reflect on the impact of my parents’ actions, my heart brims with overwhelming love and appreciation. Their influence has been the catalyst for my accomplishments, and their unwavering support continues to uplift and inspire me today. I am truly blessed to have such remarkable parents, and I will carry their love and lessons with me always.
