Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Javaris with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My unwavering work ethic finds its roots in the admirable example set by my late mother. She, with one bachelor’s and two master’s degrees, not only graduated high school in 1994 while raising me but also excelled in demanding factory work. Even after achieving her diploma goals, her commitment only intensified. Witnessing her dedication, I absorbed the lesson that achieving goals requires persistent effort, regardless of fatigue.
This ethos manifests in my professional life, earning recognition, such as being named Employee of the Month in my first month at a previous job. In my musical pursuits, I value hard work immensely. I’ve spent countless nights crafting songs, conceptualizing ideas, and, at times, creating tracks in my vehicle in challenging weather conditions—be it snow or extreme heat. These experiences reflect my commitment to constant improvement in my craft.
My mother’s wisdom echoes in my belief that sustained effort is key to personal and professional growth. While I acknowledge the occasional oversight of self-care in my pursuit of excellence, I remain dedicated to being the best version of myself. Through hard work, I strive to embody the principle that greatness is achieved through persistent dedication.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I go by the name Eternal Life The Alchemist, and my journey into music began at the age of 15. It’s not just an artistic pursuit for me; it’s a means of escaping reality and expressing myself freely. Despite dealing with a mild speech impediment, music became my sanctuary—a space where limitations vanished, and I was able to verbalize my thoughts with fluidity. With this I realized problems could be an afterthought with a new song.
What sets my music apart is its deep connection to my spiritual and philosophical nature. I delve into the esoteric aspects of life, using music as a canvas to “alchemize” reality. You can expect a diverse range of songs, each telling a story—some rooted in personal reality, others born from imaginative realism to convey powerful ideas.
The name “Eternal Life The Alchemist” reflects my belief in the infinite energy of existence and the power we hold to shape our reality. EL, the initials, also carry significance in Hebrew as another term for God, symbolizing a spiritual connection guiding every step of my journey.
Currently, I’m in the phase of building my fanbase and elevating the overall quality of my sounds. I’m using what I have to create a musical resume, forging genuine connections, and eventually aiming to form a team to make this journey more collaborative.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Confidence:
Confidence was a pivotal building block in my artistic journey. Learning to love and believe in the art I create was crucial for putting myself in the public eye. As an artist or anyone pursuing a dream, having confidence in your vision is paramount. Despite the inevitable judgment, confidence propels you forward and reveals paths that self-doubt would otherwise obscure. My advice to those starting their journey is simple: Believe in your vision, as confidence opens doors that self-doubt would keep closed.
Perseverance:
Life throws challenges that demand resilience. There were moments of lacking motivation, feeling depressed, and experiencing a sense of artistic disconnect. During these times, I learned the power of perseverance. Even if you must start anew, alter your approach, or return to the drawing board, holding onto your love for your craft is key. Perseverance fuels the determination to overcome obstacles, ensuring that, no matter the setbacks, you can achieve unimaginable heights. For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace perseverance—your unwavering commitment will be your compass.
Willingness To Take Risks:
In both life and my career, I’ve discovered that growth thrives outside the comfort zone. Taking risks, even when it feels daunting, is essential for progress. Growth doesn’t flourish in familiarity, and sometimes, you must act even in the face of fear. I’ve experienced moments of failure and ridicule, but I’ve also witnessed how, over time, taking risks leads to favorable outcomes. My advice to those starting their journey is clear: Embrace discomfort, take risks, and be willing to face uncertainty. It’s in those challenging moments that you often find the greatest opportunities for growth.
We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
I firmly believe in the importance of being well-rounded rather than solely focusing on strengths. Concentrating solely on strengths can make you vulnerable to weaknesses, and it’s crucial to maintain awareness of both aspects of life. Embracing the challenges and lessons that come with addressing weaknesses fosters humility and a more balanced perspective.
In my personal journey, I initially fixated on the “grind” aspect of my music career, consistently putting out music with the expectation of instant growth. However, I realized this narrow focus caused me to miss opportunities to maximize my potential. While I was creating great music, I neglected other crucial aspects of the industry. Acknowledging and addressing these weaknesses is an ongoing process for me, but the struggle to understand these areas is a source of personal growth.
Balancing strengths and weaknesses is a transformative journey. It prevents arrogance, promotes holistic growth, and unveils opportunities for achieving milestones that might be overlooked when solely focusing on strengths. I find solace in the challenges of navigating the less comfortable aspects of my career, knowing that mastering them will lead to exponential growth and achievements beyond my imagination. This is why I advocate for a balanced approach—it’s the path to sustained and comprehensive success.
