Meet Jen Hardy

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jen Hardy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jen with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My Grandma was the hardest working and strongest person I have ever known. In her presence, there was never an option to not push forward. You just did what you needed to do to get to that next step. That resiliency and drive was instilled in me at a very young age and I’m so grateful to her for that. It’s kept me focused and grounded in every endeavor, whether it be personally or professionally.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Co-Founder and Creative Director for, LBLC the label. We are a cruelty free, vegan contemporary clothing brand, providing all the essentials you need for an effortlessly chic wardrobe. We believe being kind to animals doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style! We officially launched back in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, which as you can imagine, was not the easiest time to introduce something new to the market. We’ve been so grateful to have been embraced by retailers nationwide since our inception. You can currently find us at REVOLVE, Neiman Marcus and 144 specialty stores across the country.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Mentorship: There’s tremendous value in having a great mentor and really taking in all that they can teach you. Their experience and expertise are invaluable. They’ve been down this road before and can tell you what obstacles to avoid and what lessons they wish they knew earlier. Your path is obviously your own, but they can help provide guideposts for the journey ahead.

2. Team Building: Finding the right people isn’t easy, so when you do be sure to build a foundation based on trust and acknowledgement. Value your team and all their personal qualities and hard work that they bring to the table. A company is only as strong as the people at the heart of it, so keep your core sturdy and the rest grows from there.

3. Positional Clarity: Understanding your position and the position of others in the company is a critical component of structural accountability. I think that there is so much value in a team that works together with mutual respect for each individual position and how those duties support the vision of the company at large. I’m also a firm believer that management sets the tone for the rest of the staff. A manager should never assign a task that they are not willing to do themselves.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
At LBLC, we are always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals who love animals as much as we do. We would love to partner with vegan lifestyle influencers, artists, and musicians who share their individual voice and perspective with the world. We believe in self-expression based in kindness, so anyone who creates from that place is someone we want to work with!
