We were lucky to catch up with Jennica Souffrant recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennica, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Being Successful is something that is up to each of us, it’s no one else’s responsibility. How i see it is you either want it or you don’t & if you want it bad enough you will find the information you need to know. It took me a while to figure but I’m glad i finally did. The information i needed was already out here so i just had to go looking for myself. I educated myself by watching other entrepreneurs on YouTube or reading information on social media such as instagram, TikTok & etc. Another way i learned to be successful was honestly by trial & error. I had lots of failed ideas, investing & not making profit back, wasted materials you name it but it was worth it in the end. No one else cares about your success more than you so go out there & get it.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Jenny, i am a 23yr makeup artist based out of Fort.Lauderdale, Fl. I’m a young entrepreneur who is goal driven & dedicated to making my dreams come true. I have an online store www.jennysisland.net where i sell weight gain products & also beauty products. Not do i only sell these products but i believe in these products. My weight gain products provide real results which i have posted all over my Instagram, Anything i have listed on my website i personally used so when i am providing reviews to potential clients it is from personal experience. I want everyone to feel welcomed in my shop & i look forward to providing every customer exceptional service. The goal is for my clients to leave feeling beautiful & even more confident in their own skin. 2024 I’m looking to take my business to new levels & really focus on growing more. I’m excited to see what the year brings for me.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three skills that were impactful on my journey is my customer service skills, creativity & perseverance. Number #1 and this is a big one, you need to learn customer service skills before starting a business! I use to work in call centers so that’s plays a big role because i know how to treat my customers. If you treat your customers good & take their thoughts into consideration they will turn into a returning customer. I’m glad i have a lot creative ideas because good promo will be eye catching for new customers, and i also say my perseverance because i never gave up I’m still going.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes i am definitely looking for more collaborations so that i can get my name & business out there any chance i can. I’m interested in collaborating with hairstylists, photographers, makeup artists, boutique owners, nail technicians, lash techs, workout clothing brands & anything else. The biggest take away for me would be networking & that’s on my list this year.
