We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Bogg, LMSW. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.
Hi Jennifer , great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I think what has helped me the most is looking at things from a perspective that’s not always talked about. Most often, when people think of change, they focus on the negative, what they are going to loose, and the unfamiliar/unknown, etc.
I learned that looking at it from the opposite approach, thinking of all that you will gain or what you will loose out on from not going for something, is what gives me that push. I’d always rather say that I tried because at least I can figure out what steps to take next rather than staying stuck and not moving forward.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the owner of Green Rose Counseling located in Plymouth. We provide outpatient therapy services for children, adolescents, adults and families.
We offer in-person and telehealth services and use a HIPPA compliant platform for all documentation and telehealth services provided.
We specialize in area including but not limited to: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Post-Partum Depression, ADHD, Attachment and Co-Dependency.
This summer we will also be starting up our summer yoga program again, led by our GRC therapist Anne Marie Caldwell, MS,LLP.
We will also be expanding into offering additonal services and groups in the upcoming months.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Focus, communication and willingness to learn. I think being ok with understanding and knowing that you will continuously learn how to practice your skills, run a business and improve yourself, is an ongoing. Learning to communicate for yourself and to hear others extremely important. And the ongoing need to keep your focus. Without focus, you can’t work on making progress or know what direction you are going in.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Getting out into the community is very helpful in growing any business. I have had others in the community help me and it has taught me the importance of helping others and working together to support each other. I am always looking for new ways to collaborate with others in the field and help support one another.
