Meet Jennifer Du Bois

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jennifer Du Bois. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jennifer below.

Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I quieted the noise and really began to focus on listening and paying attention. I paid attention to the times I felt most energized. The things I was most drawn to. What I was told I was good at. I listened to the messages that were coming in from people in my life. I wrote down everything that came up for me. At first, glance, what I saw was just words, lots of words with no apparent connection. I sat with that for a while and continued to listen. This time leaning in with more intention to understand what all of it meant. Eventually, the messages became more clear. I could not deny what I was “hearing”. I felt like I was being called to help others practice a form of self-care that makes sense to me. One that is sustainable – a beautiful and organized home.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I transform spaces to transform lives. I do this through my work as the owner and lead professional organizer & interior stylist of Organized by Jen D. My business allows me to live out my mission of helping people prioritize self-care through organizing and beautifying their home environments. As someone who has always been passionate about home decor and organization, I understand the power of a clutter-free and visually pleasing space in promoting overall well-being.

Through my work, I aim to help individuals create spaces they can thrive in. Homes that have only the things they love and use, are decorated in a way that inspires them and promotes an overall sense of calm. My approach is not just about surface-level tidying up, but about creating a space that truly reflects and supports the individual’s needs and desires.

I wake up every day with a desire to serve. I do this by providing a range of services that are tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. My approach begins with an initial consultation, where I take the time to understand my client’s values, lifestyle, preferences, and organizational challenges. From there, I work with them to develop a personalized plan that includes decluttering, reorganizing, and beautifying spaces in their homes.

I support my clients in person, and virtually. I am working on a new service offering that will include a stronger emphasis on the mindset needed to create and sustain a home that looks, feels, and functions in a way that feels good to them. Essentially, I am helping women create personal sanctuaries and I am very excited about this!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Leaning into what made sense to me without the fear of being judged for being different. 2. Being comfortable with sharing my opinion with others.
3. Being comfortable with walking away from a “good paying” job that was not aligned with my strengths and values.

If you feel a strong conviction about something, lean in and go towards it. It will feel scary, you will have some uncertainty, it may take some time to for you to get your rhythm. But go with the knowing that clarity and confidence will come in the doing. There is no other way.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is doing work to improve herself and may have begun some work to declutter and decorate her home. She is now at a point where she is beginning to realize she needs help. She is kind, appreciative, and supports diversity and inclusion. She also has a sense of humor and will tolerate my occasional joke. She is ready to invest in my services and the supplies needed to make her home goals a reality.
