We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jennifer Vaughan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I believe generosity is something that’s instilled early on, and I’m incredibly fortunate to have grown up with parents who were shining examples of giving back. They taught me, through their actions, the importance of serving others—whether it was through our local church, helping those in need, or volunteering for causes that mattered.
That spirit of giving has always stayed with me. Today, I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to our wonderful community in meaningful ways. I love serving at Lake Oconee Academy, where I’ve held various roles, including my current position as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors. My family and I are also passionate about supporting local organizations that make a real difference, such as St. Mary’s Hospital, Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Oconee Regional Humane Society, Circle of Love, and many others.
For me, giving back isn’t just about what we do—it’s about creating a stronger, more connected community and inspiring others to do the same.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have the privilege of helping people find their dream homes and investment properties in the beautiful Lake Oconee area. My work is so much more than buying and selling real estate—it’s about helping people love where they live. Whether it’s a family finding their forever home, retirees embarking on their next chapter, or investors seeing potential in this amazing community, each journey is unique, and I feel honored to be part of it.
What makes my work exciting is the opportunity to combine my passion for real estate with a love for this community. Lake Oconee isn’t just a location; it’s a lifestyle. From the stunning lakefront properties to the vibrant neighborhoods and strong sense of community, there’s something incredibly special about this area.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my ability to bring innovation and personalization to every transaction. My team and I are dedicated to providing exceptional service, and we leverage multi-channel marketing strategies to give our clients an edge in this competitive market. We don’t just sell houses; we create opportunities for families to build memories and futures.
Right now, I’m thrilled to share that I’m hosting a television show called Luxury Living Georgia on Roku’s Beautiful Home Networks. The show shines a spotlight on Georgia’s most exquisite homes, with a special focus on the Lake Oconee area. It’s a fantastic way to showcase what makes this region so unique and introduce potential buyers to the lifestyle we enjoy here.
Beyond real estate, giving back is at the heart of everything I do. My team and I contribute to local organizations like Lake Oconee Academy, St. Mary’s Hospital, Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club, and many more. We’re passionate about making our community an even better place to live.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: trustworthiness, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning. These traits have guided me through challenges, helped me build meaningful relationships, and allowed me to grow personally and professionally.
1. Trustworthiness:
Real estate is about relationships, and trust is at the core of every successful transaction. Clients need to feel confident that you’re advocating for their best interests, whether they’re buying their first home or selling a cherished property. My advice for developing trustworthiness is to always follow through on your commitments, communicate transparently, and treat every client or colleague with respect and integrity. Trust is earned over time through consistency.
2. Adaptability:
The real estate market is constantly changing, and being able to adapt is key to staying ahead. Whether it’s learning new technology, pivoting strategies in a shifting market, or navigating unexpected challenges, flexibility is essential. For those early in their journey, embrace change instead of resisting it. Seek opportunities to learn new skills, and view every challenge as a chance to grow.
3. Lifelong Learning:
This has been my cornerstone. The real estate industry—and life in general—requires continuous learning. Whether it’s understanding market trends, mastering digital marketing strategies, or learning more about the communities I serve, staying curious has been a game-changer. My advice is to read, take courses, listen to podcasts, and surround yourself with people who inspire you to keep growing.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest piece of advice is to invest in your personal development as much as your professional growth. Be authentic, stay open to new ideas, and always prioritize building meaningful relationships. Success is rarely a solo journey—it’s about how you show up for others and the value you bring to their lives.

My ideal client is someone who values trust, collaboration, and a shared vision. Whether they’re buying, selling, or investing, I love working with clients who are excited about the process and see it as a partnership.
I connect best with people who appreciate transparency and open communication. Real estate decisions are deeply personal, and having a client who’s willing to engage in honest conversations makes the process not only smoother but also more rewarding for both of us.
