Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jesica Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jesica, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I’ve discovered my own confidence in myself thru taking leaps and accomplishing tough feats. Thru seeing them through and trusting that the situation will work out for the greatest good, I’ve developed the will power and confidence to know that I can trust myself. This helps me lean into making tough decisions to exit situations when needed, take leaps, and really go for it, knowing it will all pan out.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Jesica, Holistic Wellness Blogger + founder (est. 2012) of Feel More Gooder, a digital wellness space to inspire humans to pursue a holistically healthy, authentic path in life. I focus on circadian rhythm, nontoxic living, mindful fitness, intuitive nutrition, holistic healing, clean beauty, & self peace.
My main mission with Feel More Gooder is to provide education + information to help equip my community with the confidence to be their own health advocate, they own greatest healer, and to trust that their own internal compass can be used as their guide.
Part of my job is working alongside brands to be a voice for their products/services. I’m super discerning with brands that I associate myself with, and have a passion for aligning with brands & humans that share a similar wavelength with me.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three skills I’ve worked on over 11 years of blogging are curiosity, self trust, and perserverance.
To be curious is to be a seeker and that was helped fuel my work and keep my stoked about it for many years. I still feel curious as ever present-day and I can sense that it helps my work to be this way.
Trusting myself and being willing to go against societal norms is huge for the work I do. In the world of health, scientific studies and data are coming out all the time, year by year, expanding what the currently-accepted view is on whichever respective topic it’s on. Because of this, I’ve found a profound importance of tapping into what feels right to me, and doing my own looking and digging. Trusting those internal pulls is everything. It’s how you find what your own unique medicine is.
Perserverance is a trait I picked up from years of being a competitive athlete and literally battling for points, games, wins. In my business, I find that I’m giving and recieiving a lot of no’s. Maybe its a potential brand collab that doesn’t align with my beliefs, the ingredients aren’t up to my standard, etc. Seeing those things as a positive redirection instead of a negative thing is a very helpful mindset for me to keep.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Renegade Beauty by Nadine Artemis helped me really level up my understanding of the natural world and how we can harmonize with the elements to reach peak health. The most potent takeaways from that book are that we require adequate sunshine to function & thrive, the beauty industry is full of chemical-laden products that are absolutely a waste of time and working against glowing skin, and that there are so many natural ways to use botanicals to support and healthy pregnancy.
