Meet Jesikah Black

We were lucky to catch up with Jesikah Black recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jesikah, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
I’ve always had an optimistic outlook on life but I especially experience joy since finding my faith in Jesus. Having the guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life, whether things are going great or not so great, has filled me with so much gratitude. I wake up every day with truth in my heart and knowing I am loved by Him who created it all!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I have been a photographer for well over a decade. I love the creativity of it and I especially love serving the people in my community, helping them create lasting memories.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Some of the favorite memories of my journey into professional photography is the people who helped me grow along the way. People who shared their knowledge and expertise with me which can be hard to find in trades like these. Working alongside other people in your trade and learning from them is crucial. Later down the road, maybe you can help them! Or better yet, help another person wanting to learn.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
Most of my clients are ideal but I have the most fun when a client has ideas but they also want me to be super artistic with their photos. It makes the creativity of it all really show! And that is a blast for me!
