Meet Jess Marinos

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jess Marinos a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jess with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic comes from a few places, but mainly from my mom! That woman did anything and everything to make sure she cultivated a secure life for her kids! She is the OG of hustling!! I learned at an early age that no matter what you can figure things out and find a way to push through anything!!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a postpartum doula supporting families during their amazing and sacred journey of postpartum bliss! I help educate and support families on everything from lactation to nutrition and everything in between! My hourly rate starts at $45 and support can vary from family to family. We start with a phone and in person interview to go over what type of support you and your family might need and I help educate on what my support looks like and how I can best support your family!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I thought I needed to learn and know it all in order to start my business…but that is just not the case. Take one training at a time and master that knowledge before moving on to the next!

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I have been learning over the last few months that I need to be aware and more respectful of my boundaries! I tend to want to always help/fix/please for any and everyone, and by doing this I forget my mental health and tend to get overwhelmed with taking on too much all at once!
