Meet Jessica jbunny solomon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jessica jbunny Solomon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Jessica jbunny with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I would have to say my work ethic comes from my mom , dad , grandfather from a very young age it was understood you don’t work you don’t eat , and no one will ever take care of you or yours like you do .

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am three time award winning host of the year for Columbus Ga

I’m also a radio personality for wlmrradio.com

My main focus is giving independent artist a platform to show off their music and to be heard by people perhaps they would not have been heard from originally.
Also for me I’m a person who thinks that having a good time can get you over some of the roughest times of your life so being a event host or a party host for me is therapeutic as well I love to do birthday parties anniversaries family reunions….

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back what I think were the three quality skills that helps me where my people skills my communication skills my ability to adapt and high volume situations

Advice I would give to anyone who is early in their hosting journey or trying to be a host This is definitely a job where you are the boss but you run nothing and when I say that that means that yeah you’re the boss you control the venues and you talk to all the head people you’re the middle person to keep the person you’re planning for to keep from having to do all that but at the same time you’re also not the person who can say yes that’s a go No that’s not a goal you still have to run it by someone so you definitely still need to have patience and it’s definitely not a job if you’re trying to be all about being your own boss and not having to follow rules or take directions for anyone else

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was believe in me they supported everything I had going on I love music I play clarinet I was in the Walt Disney orchestra I was in orchestra all although school I was in in Carver tiger marching band I was in the hardaway Hawks orchestra like I love music and they made sure that anything they could do to keep me connected to my music something that I loved they did
