We were lucky to catch up with Jhada Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jhada, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
When I set my sights on a goal, there’s no stopping me! Sure, bumps in the road will come, but I’m ready to pivot and try all the letters of the alphabet until I make it happen. I’ve poured my soul into this business of mine, so turning back is not an option. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and even tough times are just a stepping stone to a better version of myself. I trust that God won’t give me more than I can handle!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As an esthetician entrepreneur and educator, my team and I are dedicated to helping women feel more confident through our top-notch esthetic services, which include Lash Extensions, Waxing, and Skincare. We’re also committed to helping other estheticians advance their skills and thrive in this ever-growing industry. At Enhanced Esthetic, we offer premium products for both clients and professionals. We’re excited to announce that in March 2024, we’ll be opening our first retail space in Sandy Springs for your convenience.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Discipline, creativity, and drive were the three most impactful qualities that helped me in my business journey. Although it may seem easy to start a business when money is pouring in, the unseen stresses can be overwhelming. Beyond your skill set, you have to develop a business strategy that protects your investments. As I focused on advancing my business, I made many personal sacrifices, including stepping back from my social life. However, this solitude allowed me to tap into my creativity, which was essential for standing out in marketing and differentiating myself from competitors. Being original and thinking outside the box is crucial for success. My drive to succeed is what kept me going, even during unhappy moments in my business journey. If someone told you that you would have to fail 30 times before achieving success in business, you would probably do it without hesitation. So, why give up now? Keep pushing forward!
Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
I am currently in the process of opening a storefront and am responsible for all aspects of its completion. While I learned a lot from my previous location, this experience is quite different. Working with contractors, creating build-out budgets, and navigating city regulations can be overwhelming at times. Leasing a retail space requires much more than just interior design. I have to consider city codes, zoning regulations, material requirements, and spend a lot of time running around to ensure everything falls into place. Along with hiring new staff, servicing clients, making time for family and my own self care things get stressful.
