We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jonte’ Koonce a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jonte’, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose is all around me. It’s life itself. Every day is different so every day is an opportunity to tell a new or reoccurring story. I’ve seen so much and as a filmmaker, I feel like it’s my duty to tell these stories and share them with the world.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a filmmaker based in Florida and what I feel is most exciting and special about filmmaking or creating in general is having the ability to tell stories that needs to be told and to give the audience something creative, something original and something that has a lot of meaning to me and the people I’ve grown with.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three things that I consider the most impactful in my journey is having a strong support system, consider being a student even after learning what you needed to learn and most importantly to never give up and have faith. I wish I could give advice to the people now beginning their journey but I’m still in the beginning as well so I say just take those three things in consideration and move forward.
