We were lucky to catch up with Jordan Auten recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jordan , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
This is a simple question with a complex, yet unique answer. My resilience comes from within. It comes from my inner voice that is linked to my natural truth, courage, and my strength. It comes from being in the depths of going within and getting to the bottom line of my inner dynamics and how I inner relate to myself. My resilience comes from the wisdom I have received and cultivated throughout my life from going within and confronting deep seeded wounds that were ready to be healed. My resilience comes from tangible experience of being the underdog who at one time was challenged by previous conditions that no longer serve a purpose for my best and highest good. My resilience comes from the trust I have within myself and my connection to life force energy; something much larger the eye cannot see, though our bodies and intuition sense and feel. We know we are a part of that source of energy that creates worlds. My resilience comes from confronting my shadows as I choose a higher perspective because I am ready to make new choices that resonate with my healed sense of self, values, and belief system. My resilience comes from my ability to objectively love and accept myself for where I have been, the wisdom and growth I have gained because it has shaped the beautifully imperfect whole person I am. My resilience comes from the ocean, my soul, and my heart. It is from this new sense of self that is embodying my nature, that is whole, ready to create, self-actualize, contribute, and be of service to the world and collective as a whole.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I feel like I’m steering a massive cruise ship in the middle of the ocean without a compass or map. Yet, the only compass I have is the only one I need; my intuition. My story is complex as I am a deeply feeling person and am willing to go within and get to the root of something in order to understand, heal, transmute, and evolve. In Evolutionary Astrology, this is the Pluto and Scorpio archetype. I see life below the surface and want to dive into the deeper truth of whatever ‘it’ is. Therefore, I am not a surface person and the information I share is by no means on the surface level. During this time, we as a global collective are returning to, yet creating a new level of Renaissance. In many ways this is already happening. People are and will be creating and inventing professions that are non-traditional. A new and dynamic way of creating job security. We are multidimensional beings with multiple talents meant to be shared with the world. I share this because one size does not fit all. This is the energy of Pluto entering Aquarius for 20 years in 2024 and officially in 2025. How does this relate to me sharing my story? I am a director of film, television, and branded content with a passion and desire for documentary filmmaking. It has been a soul led journey in creating my purpose as a messenger through film and this skill will always be a part of me. From a young age I would classify my goal to direct as a part of my soul mission. I say this because I have always wanted to tell stories to evoke social and positive change within people’s lives. It was in 2020 that the entire world changed. For me, it activated other parts of myself that were dormant and in many ways my soul was preparing me prior to shifting my direction as I began to evolve. We are in a constant state of evolution. Change is inevitable. In 2019, I experienced another soul led desire to create an all women’s surf community that would be the conduit for healing and empowering the soul through the sport of surfing. The organization was and is called Yoniswell Surf Collective. I created the space to help women return to themselves through their connection to the ocean. In result, this helped them learn a skill that brought them joy, which naturally would lead them to healing and empowerment within their own lives. Surfing became a tool to help them take ownership of their desires and create the life they dream of. A tool to initiate change and to return to their nature. Keep in mind, I grew up playing competitive golf and learned to surf as an adult. If I can learn to surf, then I can hold a space for others to do the same. I didn’t realize it at the time, but Yoniswell Surf Collective was my soul guiding me to my own healing and empowerment journey. It was the nurturing space and community that granted me the gift of going within and taking stock of what I was ready to confront, heal, and transmute. That is the healing power of the ocean. There is more to this story but essentially creating Yoniswell Surf Collective led me to making the decision to become a therapist which I am now in school to get my License in Marriage & Family Therapy in addition to my other natural talents. It’s interesting how energetics work because I can objectively see how much I have healed and evolved to where the space of Yonsiwell Surf Collective has changed and evolved. It’s ready to uplevel into its current natural state and need. Yoniswell is meant to be a community space that helps others return to their nature; just not in the way I originally thought.
Yoniswell is a space for healing and empowering the soul through our innate connection with the ocean. It is a space for RETURNING TO ONE’S NATURE. The word Yoni in Sanskrit means womb and creativity.
What does it mean to return to our nature? We do this through community, storytelling, connection, and transformation. This is an experiential and subjective process that inspires and initiates returning to the essence of who and what we are.
The foundation of Yoniswell, was built on the desire to heal and empower the soul through the sport of surfing. As I have evolved, so has what I now call Yoniswell Creative. We are a boutique production company who values community, connection, transformation, and sustainability. Our body of work relates to healing, inclusivity, empowerment, and soul as we are hired by brands to create content who align with our values. Our clients are within the realm of surf, sports, health, wellness, transformation, soul, and sustainability.
Our body of work relates to healing, inclusivity, empowerment, and soul as we create content for brands who align with our values. Our clients are within the realm of surf, sports, health, wellness, soul, and sustainability. We are the conduit for telling the stories about the who behind the what. Who are they and how are they creating a positive impact in the world?
We highlight the brand’s imprint as an indirect way to shed light on community, increase sales, and clientele while promoting the mission and brand. This is a unique and innovative way to feature brands through inspiring stories. This is the Yoniswell experience and she herself as an entity is returning to her nature. As of 2024, we will be working with brands that align with our values. If you as an individual, community, company, and brand align with our message, we look forward to working with you!
In this human experience, we are in a constant state of evolution and the Universe always brings us what we need at the right time. The Universe is evolving, therefore so are we. It is possible in this new Renaissance to combine natural talents such as being a director, therapist, evolutionary astrologer, and athlete who helps others return to their nature, to reclaim their self worth and values within. It is possible to tell stories that create connection, inspiration, and purpose. This is the new renaissance.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Immediately, what comes to mind is kindness. We hear so often about being kind to others and this is absolutely true. Though, when we are embarking on the unknown where obstacles and challenges arise, it is important to be kind to ourselves as we navigate uncharted territory. To practice kindness to ourselves always, is to practice kindness to others. Secondly, it is so significant to cultivate a healthy relationship with our inner voice, our intuition because it is our most sacred and greatest guidance system. When we are taking action towards anything, a new goal and or something that we and or others may project their fears upon, it is important we trust our intuition. It is the way home to our nature and to what is best for our highest good, especially when making decisions. And if we do not trust and or are not tapped into our inner voices, this is a perfect invitation to cultivate this into our daily lives. There are multiple ways to strengthen our relationship with our inner voice. For me, surfing is powerful. The ocean always brings the wisdom needed that does not come through the mind. The messages come through our inner guidance system that some call our inner voice, which is also called intuition. Meditating, practicing yoga, journaling; whatever resonates with you the individual. I also tap into this when I play golf or skateboard. It’s unique to everyone. Thirdly, when we go within ourselves for deeper meaning and higher love, we never go without. Now, I write this and it flows onto the page. However, it took me many years to truly feel what those words mean and to trust it. One of my life’s lessons is to trust and to know within my body that I am safe; that I have all of the natural resources I need in order to create, self actualize and contribute to the world. It is a beautiful and sacred experience to feel the words, ‘go within yourself, you will never go without’. Trust is so special to cultivate and have within.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
There are multiple special people in my life that helped me rise above the ashes when I didn’t know what was to come. These people are gifts from the Universe that shared their wisdom, knowledge, and support along the way. We are never alone and there is always support in every direction we turn. I chose this question asking what book played an important role as the prompt because even though there were and are people in my life that were my saving grace, it was getting to know myself and my energy signature that led to the deepest illumination of why certain dynamics were taking place in my life. I got to the point where I started asking why and I asked for help. I surrendered for the first time which was extremely scary. I have always felt spiritual and that there is some sort of a higher power. The word spiritual gets used in various ways to where a lot of us don’t truly know what it means to us personally on a visceral level. Looking back, sure, I was ‘spiritual’, but not really. It was in my journey when I went within and truly asked for help because what had been revealed to me was that I actually didn’t trust my connection. Somewhere in my journey I separated from my connection to myself; to my nature. That said, it was in 2019 when I began to pay attention to the moon cycles. It was a friend of mine that guided me in this direction which led me to Evolutionary Astrology. I began diving into studying my birth chart and the archetypal energies we carry in our consciousness. By 2022, it was as if a previous version of myself from other lifetimes when I was an astrologer came to life. This wisdom I carried was dormant and all of a sudden was a natural talent. I have Aries in the 12th house which can have multiple definitions in relation to the Aries and Pisces archetype. Astrology is correlation and observation so it comes down to the individual and what resonates with them as a part of their reality. Essentially for me Aries in the 12th house (Pisces) is that I am a self (Aries) healer (Pisces) and the more I access practices that connect me to source, to spirit, to the Divine, I will receive the answers, the guidance, the healing, and the empowerment I need. This is exactly why I unconsciously created Yoniswell Surf Collective; Pisces is the ocean and the ocean helps us as individuals return to oneness with all of nature. It was Evolutionary Astrology, the evolutionary journey of the soul that led me home to myself, to returning to my nature, and helped me trust again. The book, in particular that is available for anyone to read is Pluto: The Evolutionary Journey of the Soul by Jeffrey Wolf Green. It was through this lens that catapulted me into a journey of awakening, enlightenment, and essentially my freedom. I utilize EA as a self healing and empowerment tool on a daily and practical basis because it helps me have a higher and objective perspective. EA is also a tool in which I will integrate as an option to help navigate clients within my wellness coaching programs. I am forever grateful for the experiences and to my friend who guided me to track the moon cycles as I know this can be a helpful tool for anyone called to follow this path of understanding the why behind their journey. There are multiple ways to our truth, to the truth.
