Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julien John Charles. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Julien , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
This answer it simple but yet deep, simply put, I get my self esteem from my trust in God. Im a born again believer so I believe that if God is on my side then there are no obstacles too big to handle. I also believe that every failure is a lesson learnt and challenges make us stronger.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I have focussed on photography and art for a number of years, at this point, Im trying to transition not only to video content but content that uplifts people. I lost a few friends since 2020 and most recently this year. I want to impact people’s lives in a more meaningful way. I want to help people get more confident, laugh, smile, appreciate life more and change lives for the better through my content.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think that the skills that helped me the most is learning to be compassionate to others ( treating them how I would want to be treated if I was in their shoes ) , learning psychology to a certain extent( learning human behavior ) and developing a hunger for self improvement. Being genuinely interested in each person you meet can uplift them tremendously. If Jesus could die on a cross for a sinner like me, who am I to look down on others.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Definitely,”Mere Christianity,” by C.S. Lewis, it helped me shape my belief systems in terms of reality and bringing to attention things that were right in-front of me when it comes to life. “Never split the difference,” by Chris Voss is also a great read in terms of business and interacting with others, especially when negotiating. Both books highlights how helping others can drastically bring joy to you and help others.
