Meet Julissa Williams

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Julissa Williams. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Julissa below.

Julissa, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Meeting my customers and receiving the support from my audience has developed a confidence I’ve been searching for as a woman and entrepreneur. I’ve struggled with self-esteem and having a brand where I create a product that encourages other ones to feel beautiful, bold and strong. Seeing that builds my self esteem.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m an Afro Latina jewelry designer from Los Angeles. Gotblingd started in 2019 creating unique nose jewelry for anyone that love to express themselves in stand out bold jewelry. I can create other jewelry when requested, but my main focus and best sellers are my nose ring designs. Designing for customer with/or without a piercing. I’m consistently adding and creating new pieces.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Consistency, Confidence and Focus. Being focused on my passion for what I do. Being there’s been times where quitting felt like my only option. Yet I just needed to regroup and give myself a break, organize my priorities. The journey has its ups and downs and we all can get overwhelmed, it’s important we stay consistent and focus on self care. Take care of yourself and regroup when something isn’t working for you.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Being criticized. I do what I love but in the back of my head I want everyone to love what I design but in reality that won’t always be the case. However I’m learning to reframe from that mindset so I’m able to reach my goals.
