Meet Justin Meeks

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Justin Meeks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Justin , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I think it comes with time and experience but you have to learn to adapt . Being unique and different is something to be grateful for . So when you’re the only one in the room that looks like you i take it as an opportunity to shine and really showcase my personality and flex my socializing skills.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My names Justin meeks and i am the owner and creative director of a modern day apothecary jmeeksapothecary . I make products for the home and customers to invoke and experience through scent and overall experience while using our products .

Everything is custom curated and created to give the best results for use .

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I’m still learning all the time but i think that’s the key is to be open to learning and growing . If you are open to gaining more knowledge you’re already one step ahead of the game . You must be ready to wear all the hats and fill all the positions in the beginning.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Time management and learning to make the most of my time overall and manage it properly
