Meet Kaeya Hill

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kaeya Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kaeya below.

Hi Kaeya, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my passion. Creating is not a job it’s a love that’s been cultivated and nurtured over the years. It is also as much therapy as it is art. I am very thankful for the ability to express myself through creating beautiful jewelry pieces that customers will cherish and wear years to come. The motivation to create is connected to the joy I receive creating beauty for my customers and community.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Eshun Designs Co. is handcrafted cultural expression of everything I love and a celebration of my culture heritage, love for gemstones and the healing qualities they can have on our lives.

Eshun Designs Co. is an African-Caribbean lifestyle brand creating original handcrafted jewelry, culture accessories, and apparel.
Our collections are inspired by nature and natural living.

They are made to resonate with the wearer at high vibrations combining natural gemstones with healing metals, global fabrics, and love…

In 2020 I expanded my brand to include an online boutique featuring my jewelry, spiritual tools to create sacred space, clothing and handcrafted art and accessories from around the world.  It is called The Eshun Collection.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I feel the qualities that have been most important for me on my journey are one continuing to refine my skills in jewelry making, techniques and adding tools to my workshop that create new looks.

The second most important not being afraid to try new things. Don’t get “type casted” explore your creativity and explore your hearts desires.

The third is get out there share. show and wear your art. Be passionate about your art and create the excitement.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I take a step back before just creating and write out a map of what my vision is from start to finish. I find when I can see what I am wanting to create it is easier to find the steps to logistically manifest my vision. This applies to a new collection, a new website, a new market I’m trying to reach. I write it all out and the outcome I am seeking.
