We recently connected with Kamini Mamdani and have shared our conversation below.
Kamini, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’m the daughter of immigrants and entrepreneurs and grew up working alongside my parents in our family businesses so I have had a lifetime of experience working and understanding what it takes to own a business.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m the founder of CHAI.COM, a company based in Dallas, selling authentic chai powder blends using our family recipe from Gujarat, India. I’ve been a Texan for over 4 decades but was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. We carry our traditions and foods wherever we go, and for many south Asians around the world, masala chai is an essential part of our daily ritual; starting the day with a cup, enjoying another midday and ending the evening with Haldi Doodh also known as golden milk.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
1. Tell your authentic story. 2. Find your narrative voice and be consistent.
3. Don’t let small challenges derail you from your goals.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
