Meet Kari Loth

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kari Loth. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kari below.

Hi Kari, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimism comes from my faith in Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. His sacrifice for us makes life a great, amazing joy and adventure to live each day. My mom is also a total optimist – always finding the silver lining in storm clouds. I carry this optimism into my work as a wedding planner. Things go wrong on the wedding day because no day is perfect! But, instead of being upset that there is a storm where an outdoor wedding is supposed to be, my team keeps a positive and “can do” attitude and changes course seamlessly so the bride does not have to worry. Remember, where there is rain, there is a rainbow!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Southern Bash combines the warmth of friends listening to great music with the liveliness of that time you’ll never forget. More than an event planner, we bring hospitality, charm and charisma to your party that will have guests saying “remember when…?” for years to come.

We offer full and partial planning services to meet every bride’s wish. Southern Bash is a boutique wedding planning company – we take on a limited number of weddings each year in order to focus on our couples. Each event has that personal touch by our planners as our bashing brides become part of the Southern Bash family.

We are so excited to offer our couples a brand new (and much-needed) service – The Southern Social Media Take Over. A Southern Bash team member will attend your wedding, log onto your socials, and post in real (and reel) time all day! This gives you and your partner a chance to stay unplugged and keep your socials going all day. It is also great for those out-of-town guests who can not attend the wedding. After the big day comes to an end, we will air-drop all the photos and videos to you so you can relive your special day.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Empathy – My team and I get to know our couples, their journey, love story, and desire for their special day so we can implement their wishes in the best way possible. Organization – I like to call the wedding planner the show’s producer- we combine all the parts and pieces to create a seamless and cohesive day.
Joyful -Weddings bring me joy! I love seeing the groom when he sees his bride for the first time. I cry along with the dad when he dances with his daughter. I chat with the mom about her new journey as her daughter marries the man of her dreams. I love all things weddings.

I think anyone can improve their outlook in life by looking at the bright side and bringing little pieces of joy to everything they do – like dropping confetti.
We can all learn better empathy by LISTENING to our clients. Actually listening. Pause and listen.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing?
I feel an enormous challenge we are all facing in the wedding industry right now is inflation. Flowers, food, alcohol – everything – has gone up in price and this translates to weddings as well. Wedding vendors need to be honest with clients – we are all in the same boat.
