We were lucky to catch up with Karmel Bortoleti recently and have shared our conversation below.
Karmel , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I never let fear gets in the way. I always had a strong belief in myself, and I stay on the path that I am on even in the face of discouragement.
Fear causes us to question ourselves, and some people in our lives can cause us to cultivate doubt. “I don’t know if resilience can be taught. But, we can choose to be resilient and it takes a good amount of faith. Believe in yourself cause If you don’t believe in yourself, you can’t expect anyone else to believe in you.
I’ve never limited myself and don’t let others put a limit on me or put me in a box!
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Karmel Bortoleti is Brazilian author , actress, and producer.
Her narrative of breaking into the film industry as a woman and a single mother is an inspiration of resilience to many.
Her career started off as an actress and that’s when she developed a passion for producing and became a film producer.
She just wrapped another feature film called “FEARS”. This is her fifth film production since she started her career as producer 2 years ago.
“FEARS” is A scary movie that explores everyone’s anxieties.
Also, she just launched “THE ABODE,” a supernatural horror movie that can be watched on Apple TV and Prime Video in the US and Canada. Additionally, she is in post-production on two other feature films: “INTERIOR HALLWAY NIGHT,” starring Billy Zane from the film “TITANIC,” and “UNFELT,” starring veteran actor Timothy V. Murphy. She has also produced and directed for the first time the documentary “HEARTLESS,” which is about Ukraine and the civilians feelings.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience work ethics
commitment
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Life itself can be very overwhelmed, specially if you are a single mom of three like me. Sometimes you don’t know how you can handle so much. But then , I take a step back, I breath and I stay in silence. It’s very important to us to listen to our inner-self and let the outside noise away. Silence brings us answers that we can’t listen when we are surrounded by so much information.
I highly recommend meditation to reset our thoughts and let go whatever challenge we are going through. then brand new good thoughts and the answers you are waiting for will come.
