Meet Kathryn Pendergrass

We recently connected with Kathryn Pendergrass and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathryn, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
My self discipline comes from my true love for my family, the love for the arts, and knowing that life is too short for neglecting self improvement

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Kathryn Pendergrass and for my entire life I have always had a deep fascination and respect for art and the art community! As a young woman I have strived for years to push my own boundaries on what art means for me and for others by creating dream like portraits, landscapes, and surreal artwork. I love to incorporate printmaking, silk screen printing, and photography into my work along with primarily oil and acrylic paintings. I am also learning to tattoo and will be perusing a career in that field in the future!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Many areas of knowledge and skill in the art community have pushed me to become the artist I am today, but t mainly pull from my years of self reflection, resilience from major life changes, and continuing to reach out with open arms to new perspectives, communities, and ideas in the art world. I always encourage others to use personal self reflection when on a journey to create something truly impactful and inspiring!

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My most impactful thing that my parents have done throughout my entire art career is the undying love, support, and help throughout any obstacles life has thrown at me wether it be in the furthering of my art career or in my personal life.
