Katrina, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my beautiful journey of self-discovery. My journey of accepting myself was from realizing that feeling beauty isn’t just my outward appearance but the love and acceptance within me. Going through life, I realized that I needed to see the brighter side (the beautiful) of life by accepting who I have been called to be – an encourager. When I see the world through this lens of beautiful, I see how beautiful the world can be regardless of what I’m going through. It’s understanding that even in the toughest moments, there is a lesson and that’s the beautiful part. It’s being able to claim that “even in this, there is still beautiful” that I find the courage and strength to keep going.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I inspire the world to create a beautiful life. My company, Unbreakable Memories, is not just another jewelry, t-shirt, journal or home decor brand. It’s a brand that believes in the power of “Beautiful” and the memories created that can never be broken. Through the assignment of inspiring beautiful, I wanted to create something that would inspire beautiful through the products created. And that’s how Unbreakable Memories was born.
At Unbreakable Memories, I believe that beauty is not just skin deep. It’s about who we’ve been created to be, the experiences you have, the people you meet and the beautiful memories you create. The gemstone jewelry, t-shirts, journals, candles, and home decor are not just products, but they are a reminder of the beautiful moments in life that are unbreakable. I believe that everyone deserves to feel beautiful, regardless of their shape, size, or color because our beautiful is defined by who we were created to be. That’s why our signature line, “Hello My Name is Beautiful®,” is redefining the narrative on beautiful. “Hello My Name is Beautiful®” is for:
– Every moment when you questioned your beauty
– Every moment when you believed your trials defined you
– Every moment when you believed your worth was defined by who loved or accepted you
– Every moment when you believed your outer beauty (clothes, hair, makeup) dictated whether you were beautiful

I want to create a world where everyone feels comfortable in their own skin. Where they can celebrate their unique beauty in who they are created to be. I want to inspire people to embrace their individuality and create lasting memories that they can pass down through generations to come. Thus, coloring the world beautiful!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Self-reflection and self-acceptance – My journey began with looking inward, embracing my vulnerability, and learning to love myself unconditionally. In identifying my flaws or limiting beliefs, I had to release those things that no longer or should have never defined who I am. This foundation allowed me to see “beauty” beyond the surface and recognize my own worth. In other words, I had to define what beautiful was to me. Therefore, you have to start by setting aside time for self-reflection. Journal your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. But, most importantly, be gentle with yourself and practice self-compassion. Show and give yourself grace!
- Resilience and Inner Strength – On any journey, you will be met with challenges, setbacks, and those who can’t see what’s possible for your journey (haters). These challenges or haters can create self-doubt because you can’t physically see the other side. But it’s through perseverance, that you build your faith muscle and know that anything is possible if you believe. Your belief will allow you to keep going even when you can’t see the steps or when those haters say you can’t do it. They don’t know your vision and plan so of course they can’t see it. Therefore, continue looking at the challenges as opportunities for growth. Most importantly, surround yourself with a supportive community that uplifts and encourages you. Believe in your inner strength, because it’s your superpower.
- Learn to adapt or change – On my journey, I’ve learned that you have to embrace change and learn to pivot. I’m a planner so when things happen I have two choicesto make: 1) stop and allow the challenge to stop me or 2) pivot and find another way or a new perspective. My belief system allows me to embrace change and stay open to learningwhat’s required. If I’m not open to a new perspective then I never get to grow outside of my comfort zone. And we all know how a comfort zone can keep us complacent. Therefore, embrace change as a chance to evolve and expand to become your highest self!
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I don’t want to think of my current situation as an obstacle or a challenge but it’s really an answered prayer. In June 2023, I was notified that my position at my previous employer was being eliminated. You talk about total shock! It was a real example of me having to say “even in this, there is still beautiful”. After processing what transpired, I realized that God was answering my prayer of wanting to do Unbreakable Memories full-time. I realized that my purpose of inspiring others to see beautiful was hindered by the job. I couldn’t be free to see the world beautiful because I was stuck in that position that I no longer loved. I had to accept that the job was holding me back from the bigger calling. And that’s where I found the freedom and peace with the separation as it was God’s way of saying the time is now. It was at that moment that I realized this obstacle was my answered prayer to color the world beautiful and with that Unbreakable Memories gets all of my attention. I don’t know what this new journey looks like but I trust God and He will make a way!
