Meet Keon Atwater

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Keon Atwater. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Keon below.

Keon, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
For as long as I can remember, I would allow other people’s perspective to shape my narrative. I think that I associated walking on eggshells as a way to not be a disturbance. Usually it felt easier to do what was expected of me versus rocking the boat. One day I decided that my mental health, emotional health and happiness was more important than pleasing the masses.  The day I started to pour into myself despite how I was received, was the hardest day of my life. I realized that I could no longer live the life others wanted me to, just because they were too afraid to take a leap. Stepping outside of my comfort zone shaped the woman that I am today. A woman who takes chances regardless of what anyone else says or thinks. I had to take a step back and accept that people will always have their opinions and place their expectations on you, but this shouldn’t stunt your capabilities and growth. Sometime’s we have to be the dreamers who become the doers and lead by example. Listening to my inner voice, keeping my focus on the goal and believing in myself is what has made this journey a little easier. Remember to follow your dreams and manifest the reality that you envision for yourself. Those doubters, naysayer and haters will either become inspired or become fans. Always take control of your narrative!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Through my brand ambassador and promotional modeling role, I continue to support small owned businesses and other creators.

Outside of offering my services as a Personal Chef, I have published two books.
My first book, “A Dose of Fuego” is a recipe guide series which is Inspired by the erotic book series “Fuego Dosage” by Jonnise Atwater, MBA.
Introducing the first of an unforgettable culinary and literary experience, where poetry and food seamlessly collide to reveal a story.

This dual concept, “A Dose of Fuego” break’s down the elaborate and erotic tales of “Fuego Dosage” through aphrodisiac based food with a plant based twist.
“A Dose of Fuego” was creatively conceptualized by pairing a series of dishes that convey key element’s of erotica using aphrodisiac component’s.

My second book is a journal that inspires self-love and self-care.
“Self-Love Journey: The Tarot Journal Edition” was created to help aid people in their personal development and spiritual journey. Often the road of self-care can be much like a roller coaster, there are plenty of ups and downs but it is constantly in motion.
It can be hard to keep track of all of the sudden changes and experiences that occur on this journey, hence why I have created a journal to help others sort through these every day experiences.

Both books are available on Amazon and we are excited to announce that we are releasing 2 more books, which will be a collection of short stories and poetry.
You can also find merch and art that has been inspired by each of our concepts.

Lastly, we have recently launched a Mental Health Campaign called “Everyday I Fight For My Sanity” which is used as a way to unite people who are battling the daily struggle of maintaining their mental health. We aim to use our platform to educate those who are not familiar with mental wellness as well. Our overall goal is to encourage others to seek a healthier lifestyle through wellness and mental health, using our many products and services as a guide to doing so.

As I move forward in my career I aim to continue my family’s legacy and establish something that can be passed down for generations.
Our mission is to curate experiences through our talk shows, podcasts, books, live and virtual events.
Our passion is bringing people together to enlighten, empower, exchange artistry, share ideas, create conversations, and stimulate the minds.

Stay on the look out for this Mother-Daughter Dynamic Duo while we take the U.S and the internet by storm with a book & food tour experience like no other.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe that the first quality that has been most impactful on my journey has been my motivation to share my passion with the world. This is my way of helping others reflect and find that thing that drives them. We all have dreams but it is when we decide to put our best foot forward to make those dreams a reality, that opportunities begin to appear.

I use to be someone who was scared to put themselves out there because I was afraid of how i would be received. This is why I would say this next quality has given me that extra push, which is having a positive mindset. This is what has allowed me to use my motivation to help others take flight in not only my career, but equally my personal life.

Lastly, faith itself is the most useful tool of all. Faith in my purpose and the journey I have set out on. Faith that I will prevail and accomplish all that is destined for me. If I didn’t hold onto that idea then all that I did would be without purpose.

I think when you shoot for the stars it takes intention and I believe in living intentionally, so I like to incorporate each of these into my day to day. Motivation, positivity and faith are what made me who I am today.
My advice to anyone out there pursuing a dream is to release doubt and the fear of losing, there aren’t any losses when each step on this journey is just another lesson.
Have faith in what you aim to accomplish and do not limit your ability to make it happen. When it comes to your passions the most important voice will be your inner voice. Listen to it and allow yourself to not just grow but flourish!

Remain motivated, positive and have faith in not just your actions but also yourself. You are capable and you will succeed as long as you practice this daily. It is a work in progress but it will prove to be worth it. Just keep going!

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I begin to feel overwhelmed I honestly have to ground myself and remember who I am. I am on this mission with intention and a purpose in mind. I remember that I don’t just do this for myself or my family, but also for the people out there who should believe in themselves the same way I believe in them. Everyone needs someone to see the greatness in them and sometimes all it takes is a little inspiration.  As I grow older and go even deeper into this journey, I have learned to practice a few strategies in order to maintain balance. One thing that helps me is leaning into my spirituality and self care practices more.

After all, it is harder to pour into others and activities when we feel empty.
This goes hand in hand with mental health.
I find it highly important to do what encourages a healthy balance. This even includes getting adequate sleep, eating well and finding ways to express yourself. I like to journal so that way I can get to the core of what is causing any feelings I may be experiencing. Most importantly, I think it’s okay to rest, mentally, physically and emotionally. This is a necessary part of resetting and starting again. After all, we are human. I have to constantly remind myself that everything I do is about the journey and not just the destination.
My goal is to put my best foot forward each and every day and aim to be a better version of myself. I know I am on the path I am meant to be on. This is what encourages me to hold my head high and see those moments through.
