Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keshona Sharae. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Keshona, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic is deeply rooted in the teachings and influence of my mom. Since a young age, she instilled in me the importance of hard work, dedication and perseverance. Growing up, I observed her unwavering commitment to her career and her relentless pursuit of excellence in everything she did.
My mom’s work ethic was evident in her tireless efforts to provide for our family. She worked long hours and prioritized her responsibilities, never compromising on the quality of her work. She taught me that success doesn’t come easy; it requires consistent effort and a strong work ethic. Her determination and focus were inspiring, and soon I adopted these habits as my own. I understood that to achieve my goals, I needed to put in the necessary work and stay dedicated to my tasks.
Lastly, my mom taught me the significance of balancing work and personal life. Despite her demanding schedule, she always made time for our family, demonstrating the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She showed me that success is not solely measured by professional achievements but also by nurturing relationships and finding joy in the little moments.
In conclusion, my work ethic is a reflection of my mom’s teachings and influence. Her dedication, discipline and commitment to excellence have shaped my approach to work and life. I’m very grateful for her guidance and I will continue to carry her lessons with me as I navigate my own personal journey.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My clothing boutique was meticulously designed to make women feel good in the digital realm, hence the name. Jolie Fille means Pretty girl in French. My website was carefully crafted, it creates an immersive and enjoyable shopping experience right from the comfort of one’s home.
I understand the importance of visual appeal and ensure that its website is visually stunning. High-resolution images showcase each garment in detail, allowing women to get a clear idea of how the items will look and fit. The website is thoughtfully organized with intuitive navigation, making it easy for women to find exactly what they are looking for and explore new items that may catch their eye.
To make women feel confident in their online purchases, the boutique provides detailed size guides and measurements for each item. This helps women make informed decisions about the right fit, reducing the need for returns and exchanges. Additionally, the boutique often includes customers reviews and ratings, providing valuable insights from other women who have already purchased the items.
I plan on throwing an inner city fashion show featuring local brands soon.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back three qualities that were most impactful in my journey were networking and relationship-building, leadership and decision-making skills, and financial literacy and business acumen.
1. Networking and Relationship-Building: Building a strong network of contacts is vital for a young female business owner. Networking provides opportunities for collaborations, partnerships, and mentorship, enabling you to learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable insights. Effective relationship-building skills helped me connect with potential clients, investors, and industry peers, opening new doors to new opportunities and fostering trust and loyalty among stakeholders.
2. Leadership and Decision-Making skills: As a young female business owner you have to possess strong leadership skills to effectively guide your team and make critical decisions. This involves being able to communicate a clear vision, motivate employees and delegate tasks efficiently. Good decision-making skills are crucial for navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business, as well as adapting to changing market conditions.
3. Financial Literacy and Business Acumen: Understanding the financial aspects of a business essential for long-term success. A young female business owner should have a grasp of financial literacy, including knowledge of budgeting, cash flow management, and financial statements. This enables her to make informed financial decisions, accurately asses the health of her business and strategically plan for growth.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes! Im looking to collaborate with more wholesale vendors to speed up the production of my merchandise. Im also looking to collab with more graphic designers and a few micro influencers. If anyone reading this is interested you can reach out to me via email at [email protected]
