Meet Keyani Watkins

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keyani Watkins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Keyani , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I get my resilience from my DNA. All throughout history we have seen nothing like the resilience of my people. There’s absolutely no way I could ever stop after witnessing that, even til this day. We are a true embodiment of roses from the concrete.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an Artist. Always. All ways! A professional idea “actualiz.ER.” I thrive off creating things that don’t exist, and inspiring the next creator.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities that impacted my life the most were patience, curiosity, and perseverance. I will always say there’s a time for everyone, focus on creating and trying new things in all aspects of life. Don’t ever give up.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
My biggest area of growth in the past 12 months and counting is learning to let go of my perfectionist standards. It often held me back from numerous amounts of opportunities, creations, and even evolution.I am still learning to let go more but I am not where I was a year ago and I love it. “Wabi Sabi.”
