We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keyeshia Watson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Keyeshia, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Being a risk taker has always come very natural to me… I can honestly say I was born bold… Throughout this Life Experience I realized early on, Life is all about taking risk… Playing it safe and not risking it all is a risk.. Being afraid to take chances is basically being afraid to live… The leap you’re scared to take could change your life forever..

My journey as proud owner, creator, & designer for my brand Chic Eccentrics began nearly 7 years ago right here in Tampa… Reflecting back I must say it’s been the greatest thing I’ve done for not only myself but my lineage… I have managed to remain consistently notorious for my works…
Today Chic Eccentrics continues to be the Brand that keeps on giving and only getting better… From January 2017 til now the site has accumulated nearly 35K+ Visitors, 200+ Items, 100+ mentees, multiple orders, happy customers & a host of amazing supporters.. I can’t say enough how grateful I am…
I’m currently preparing for my Sawgrass Capsule.. I always allow the vision for my capsules to come from within.. It’s more authentic that way and very cohesive… This capsule includes some amazing designs, an array of vivid colors and per usual full of versatility.. It goes live the last week of July..
The CE Business Hub is now 1! And so far so good… The hub is for entrepreneurs, business mavens, content creators, etc… It’s really for anyone truly… I have mentees that book for brainstorming, business, strategy, financing 101, and a list of other things… I have new openings for Fall & Winter..
There is something else I’m really ecstatic to announce.. I don’t mind giving you all an exclusive… For the last 3 years I’ve been seriously working on my music.. The release date is slowly approaching so everyone should be on the lookout for that as well…
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would have to say remaining Persistent, Consistent, and Efficient… These are some of the key factors for my success… I’ve made it a point to apply all to the highest level.. I always stayed persistent about the type of business model I needed my brand to be… This is why I’m notoriously known for how consistently I drop heat..
To the new brand owners be sure to stay focus & never doubt yourself… Please take chances, that’s the only way opportunities will show… Don’t be afraid of what’s already yours…
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents allowed me to be myself… Be responsible enough to go out into the world and make my own decisions.. Being encouraged to do what I feel and use critical thinking at my own discretion..
My biggest influence to this day is still my Mom.. Her example alone encourages me to continue taking risk.. I watched her and Dad take a lot of chances that were worth it in the end…
I’m glad I choose them for my parents…
