Meet Khara Croswaite Brindle

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Khara Croswaite Brindle. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Khara below.

Hi Khara , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
In becoming a Financial Therapist, I had to do my own work around money, which also shed a ton of light on my work ethic, self-worth, and former workaholism. I identify as a serial entrepreneur and love creating things. My worth ethic comes from both my parents, who go all-in regarding anything they do, including this stage of life of retirement and being present grandparents to their grandchildren. When exploring money scripts, I saw an intersection between entrepreneurship, workaholism, and the modeling of both my parents in childhood that was significant to my healing journey with money. Now I help other therapists do this powerful work themselves!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey as a mental health leader has had lots of growth and pivots over the years. I recently celebrated ten years of private practice and small business ownership which feels important to reflect upon in what I’ve been able to achieve thus far. All of my client experiences have prepared me to best serve my colleagues–fellow mental health therapists both green and seasoned, and Financial Therapists-with the pain points they are experiencing while being called to serve. From quality supervision, money matters in practice, mastering Medicaid, specialty populations of workaholism, perfectionism and mother-daughter estrangement, burnout, and healing from client suicide, I’m proud to offer a safe landing place for therapists wanting to grow into secondary income streams for work-life harmony. So much of what I do is captured on my website for folks, including services of consultation, groups, trainings, and on-demand courses, as well as 6 (soon to be 8) published books!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Organization-being highly organized has helped me produce and launch services and products in a short amount of time. This calls for focus time, time blocking, working on your business rather than in your business, and working retreats to anchor us in our goals for a moment, season, or lifetime. Creativity-listening to others as a professional has helped me identify what my community is needing, which usually informs the products, projects, and services I create next. By looking at points of discomfort, gaps in support, and pain points that still need to be addressed, entrepreneurs can collect the market research needed to give themselves the green light to build something meaningful and impactful.
Integrity-showing up online the same as in-person may feel small, but it speaks to integrity in our branding as business owners. I’ve learned to balance free offerings and videos with paid services so folks feel like they’ve gotten to know me before they ever actually meet me. This has served me well in the mental health space as a leader wanting to help colleagues navigate some of the most difficult moments of their careers.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is a mental health professional or financial therapist wanting to work on themselves to build self-confidence and work-life harmony. Whether they are a green clinician new to the field or someone wanting to pivot in their practice after 10+ years of client work, I love helping colleagues discover their possibilities! Possibilities that expand their reach and build secondary or passive income like teaching as a professor, writing a book, creating trainings, offering online courses, hosting retreats, or offering supervision and consultation. As someone who has walked the walk, I’m excited to demystify the process and break it into manageable chunks for others to master!
