Meet Kiana Webb

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kiana Webb a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kiana , so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Being the only one in the room who looks like me has empowered me to embrace my uniqueness and leverage it as a strength. It has taught me the importance of authenticity, resilience, and confidence. By standing out, I’ve learned to amplify my voice, value diverse perspectives, and become an advocate for inclusivity. This distinction has allowed me to bring fresh insights and innovative ideas to the table, contributing positively to the collective goals. Through this journey, I’ve not only grown personally but have also inspired others to embrace their individuality and the rich tapestry of diversity that exists in every room.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a community leader who has always been driven to attain a higher degree of excellence. With an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Organizational Leadership, I’m passionate about empowering individuals and helping them rise in their own power. Creating opportunities for success for the community in which I live and work has become my life’s mission.

As the Chief Executive Officer of Glorious Arisings and former Chief Executive Officer at Webb Family Enterprises (WFE), a management company striving for equitable advancement, I’ve earned a credible reputation in business and philanthropy.

I also proudly serve as a founding Board Member of the Cooperative Economic Empowerment Movement (CEEM) and on the L.A. County Fair Board of Directors, further exemplifying my expertise and service to others.  In 2023, I founded Glorious Arisings to focus on creating more environments where entrepreneurs can thrive, realize success, and design the life they desire – no matter their background or circumstances. Many individuals have achieved remarkable success, helping numerous people rise out of poverty, through my Glorious Arising self-development courses. I truly enjoy bringing people together and fostering unity.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Understanding and valuing human emotions has been central to my journey, highlighting the transformative power of empathy. To those early in their own paths, I’d suggest cultivating this empathy by actively listening and trying to understand the perspectives of others; it’s through this open-hearted approach that deep, genuine connections are formed. Furthermore, my interactions have been greatly enriched by an evolving grasp of human bonds and emotions. Delving into the realms of relationships and emotional intelligence can profoundly deepen one’s capacity for unconditional love. Lastly, being a constant and reliable presence in the lives of those I interact with has underscored the significance of consistency. It’s a reflection of the steadfast nature of unconditional love, a reminder that showing love and kindness with unwavering dedication leaves a lasting, positive impact.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to provide unconditional love and support throughout my life. Their unwavering belief in me, even during times of doubt and challenge, formed the bedrock of my confidence and self-worth. Beyond this foundational love, they enriched my life with diverse experiences that broadened my horizons, taught me the value of perseverance, and instilled in me a sense of curiosity about the world. Through their actions, both big and small, they demonstrated the essence of sacrifice, commitment, and genuine care, setting an exemplary standard for me to aspire towards in my relationships and life choices.
