We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kimberly Fisher. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kimberly below.
Kimberly, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Growing up, I was the one in the room that was the eternal optimist. I believe it was a quality I was born with, and I had a supportive family that encouraged me to keep an open mind and a bright outlook. I grew up looking ahead, focusing on hopeful outcomes and hopeful expectations, and continue to grow with the idea of finding silver linings in challenging situations. I too believe, giving gratitude regularly, helps me fuel the optimism in me and in others.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Reiki Grand Master and Teacher, and Ayurvedic Energy Healer having over 12 years experience working with people. My love of helping others, came after taking care of helping myself after being diagnosed with liver cancer. It became a priority for me, to learn as much as I could to heal myself, integrating multi cultures and learning what the ancients have shared for thousands of years. I became a seeker, an enthusiast, and knew as I started on the path, I was going to share these skills, these techniques with others. My passion is to help other people, know there are natural options to help their mind, body and soul heal.
I am a master mapster, tracing the pathways of stories, the meridian lines that show us what needs to be addressed in the body whether it is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Together in a session, we can explore what the possibilities are, where I can help release blocked energy, blocked thoughts and allow for positive flow in the body. If people want to learn how to do this too, I teach multiple levels of Reiki and help them spread their wings to become a light worker in the world.
In addition to working with people, in 2017, I started working on Reiki Healing and Acupressure with animals. As I took on the task to heal myself from my cancer, I knew I could help heal my dog, who was diagnosed with a very rare tick disease that led her to have no mobility in her back legs. It was my mission, to learn as much as I could about natural healing for animals, and today, share this information with clients. This information can include working with the meridian points and showing what might need to be addressed, silent pain that the animal might be hiding, visions, feelings and help give ideas for diet based on what the animal is showing.
I really believe that us as people and their animals, work in tandem. When one feels better, so will the other. Together or separately, I can help work them work through or at least be the voice of what might be showing up.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey the three qualities that were most impactful were
1. Be curious about what is out there to help. There are so many options to natural healing and not one size fits all. Seek out the different options and experiment what resonates with you and have fun in the exploration.
2. Be patient. All good things take time and over time, offer long term benefits. Believe in the possibilities and write down, track how the process is going.
3. Stay open to meeting others in your field. We can never know everything, and I believe others have much to share with their wisdom, talents and experience. Meet new people, learn from them and share what you know. Have an open mind to continue to learn and invest in what else is possible.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
One of my great mentors was Jerry Becker. I thank him for being instrumental in my development of being a healer and being an intuitive. He helped me first recognize what was happening with my body when western medicine couldn’t find what was going on with my liver. AND then, helped me along the path of healing Ayurvedically after having surgery.
He helped guide me, allowing the space to practice, to learn, sharing his knowledge and only giving me enough knowledge at the time to process and develop my skills. I would always ask for more, more and more, and then after I started the work, realized I had everything I needed, I just needed to work with its part more deeply to understand. He lead me down the path of self discovery along with guiding me along a path of learning about healing at a very deep level, getting into the tissues and bones, not just at the surface level. It is with this technique, I like to work with others to learn too. Slow, steady and a base for expansion.
