We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kineesha Kiah a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kineesha, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Honestly for me it’s a constant journey towards self discovery and confidence everyday. After battling postpartum depression when I had my daughter I realized just how important getting back to “Me” was . Not only learning who this new woman is but finding my way as a mother. I made it a point to carve out quiet time for myself, I wake up at 4 am to go to the gym because I know actively working on my body goal makes me feel good, I went back to doing things I enjoy like reading traveling and listening to music before bed. I started embracing my body more and taking more pictures. The more I worked on bettering myself and my businesses the better and more confident I began to feel.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the owner of Curve Theory Organics a luxury self care product line, and the creator of The Mommy Meetup which is a monthly moms night out event series. When I initially created Curve Theory Organics, it was with mothers in mind as a way to maximize the small window we seldom have for self-care while still providing a luxury experience. During my journey of healing I realized how important fun and entertainment was for mothers, which is why I created The Mommy Meetup which has become a huge hit. We have hosted three events so far, and each time the crowd of mothers grows bigger and bigger.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
No matter what stage you’re in on your entrepreneurial journey you must learn to take your time. Dont rush the process or compare your process to anyone else’s everything is about timing. Do your research : Google and YouTube or as I like to call it YouTube University are your best friends . I’ve also grown fond of TikTok as well when it comes to certain information. Don’t be afraid to fail: there will be months you sell out and months you don’t sell anything at all just keep going. Most importantly learn how to properly market your business : I use Canva for most of my promo materials especially for social media but I also had to get used to pitching my business on the spot. You never know who’s in the room so be ready at all times.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking to collaborate with other people, brands and businesses. Bring Curve Theory Organics to your next popup shop or market place event!! Bring The Mommy Meetup to a city near you!! We participate in several initiatives to donate food , services and clothing to woman, children and anyone in need so any donation no matter how small is greatly appreciated. I want to expand my reach and work with other people to do the same so I’m always open to partnership.
