We were lucky to catch up with King Jaquell Martin recently and have shared our conversation below.
King Jaquell, we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? I’ve overcame my challenges by fully understanding that I am not the first or the last person to experience police brutality. By knowing this, I am able to be the spark for the future while also honoring my ancestors.
Even through the trauma, I know that my purpose is to bring healing to those who feel left behind. To fight for the right side of justice through my art.
Overall, I am honored to use my motivational speaking platform entitled Whispering to your Soul and my art to disrupt the status quo. Of course challenges will arise, but they do not define me. I am a conqueror and obstacles that come my way are merely stepping stones to further my life purpose.

I’m the soldier who was wrongfully assaulted in his military uniform by Officer Benjamin Fields and Deputy Joesph Clarke.
Officer Benjamin Fields is the same officer who went viral for assaulting the young lady at Spring Valley High School.
I went from wrongfully facing 10 years in jail to becoming a award winning director, actor, author, and motivational speaker.
My short film has been selected in over 40 film festivals and it won movie of the year at the Indie Night Film Festival held at the Chinese Theater.
I wanted your readers to understand that you’re unbreakable and one moment doesn’t define your life you do.

Look around you!

How many people can see your dreams?
No one!
So why do we get upset when family and friends don’t support ?
Aren’t they blind to your dream!
But it’s still your responsibility to turn it into reality!

Don’t add to it! Don’t allow people to trick you out of your purpose!
3. Your the best and your finger prints prove it! Because no on else on the planet has your finger prints which means your a masterpiece! So don’t die a copy!
