We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laticia Brice. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laticia below.
Hi Laticia, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
Growing up, I developed a love for mystery books, series and movies. My first favorite book series was The Hardy Boys. When I think of all of the detectives in all of the whodunits I have read and watched, I see that they have certain qualities that enabled them to solve those mysteries. They are fearless, brave, determined and adventurous They have an inherent need to make things right and are willing to take risks to do so and to solve the mystery. At the core, they are problem-solvers and this is also how I see myself.
But how does a problem solver become a risk taker? Well, I believe that problem solvers are goal-oriented and someone that is goal-oriented is willing to take risks to achieve their goal. If I am in a situation that makes me unhappy or no longer serves me, I start devising a plan to get out of that situation. I won’t let the fear of failure stop me from achieving my goal and as long as I am not going against my values, I will most likely take that risk.
So, after years of living like this, from childhood to the present, and my experiences and where it has led me to today, I began to realize that to have a better life, the best life ever, I would have to take risks, break from tradition, do the things that most persons would consider crazy, because taking those risks often brings great rewards.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Tech Consultant for small businesses and a Tech and Accountability Coach for busy and overwhelmed Solopreneurs and Entrepreneurs.
I empower entrepreneurs to DIY their tech. I solve tech their issues so they can focus on making money.
What’s most exciting about what I do is I get to help entrepreneurs as they work to solve problems. Entrepreneurs see a gap or problem in the market and they provide solutions. They are very much needed; they are unsung heroes, in my opinion. Where I come in is, I empower them to reach their goals and do the things that they never thought they could do.
What’s special about that is I get to work with people who build something out of nothing to help others while also staying true to my goals and dreams. I find this to be incredibly fulfilling to be there when they succeed and witness their joy and accomplishments.
What everyone should know about my brand is that helping is my favorite thing. Working with me is working with someone that finds pleasure in helping others succeed. I am someone that shares knowledge and enjoys the journey of working to solve your issues right along with you. You don’t have to go it alone.
I have developed two offerings to help me do just that:
1. The Digital Growth HUB Membership for Business Growth.
This membership is powered by coaching that guides solopreneurs through each step in building a successful business while also keeping them focused, on task, and skipping the stress and overwhelm that comes with this.
I believe it is a cost effective way for entrepreneurs and service based business owners to make progress with their website, business goals and business processes. Guiding them in a manageable way so they can avoid overwhelm, attract their ideal client, increase their income and have a successful business.
2. PCIS: Private Coaching, Implementation and Strategy – a six-week Done With You coaching program
PCIS is an excellent opportunity to complete the things busy entrepreneurs tend to procrastinate on. During the program, you receive private 1:1 coaching, a custom personal plan, done with you and knowledge sharing sessions with a clear deadline. All of this and more, designed to help you save time, have peace and relief from the stress and overwhelm so you can achieve your business goals.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
What has been most impactful in my journey is the quality of resilience, my problem-solving skills and my Tech expertise.
To elaborate on these:
Without resilience, you would give up when you face difficulties. With resilience, even when life knocks you down you get back up and fight.
Problem-solving: Having this skill helps you to get past the feeling of hopelessness when you encounter problems. It opens up a world of opportunity when you have the mindset that there is a solution out there, you just have to find it.
Tech: I can’t think of any industry or area of life that has not been touched by tech. So having tech as a passion, field of study and an expertise has afforded me the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life all over the world.
The advice I would give to those who are early in their journey is this: Don’t settle. Go after what you want. At the same time, don’t compromise your values to get what you want. It will most likely be a difficult journey so you will have to develop qualities such as resilience, tenacity, determination and optimism.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I am all for leaning into your strengths, especially in business. Because why would you make things more difficult for yourself by not leading with your strength? However, don’t be single-minded. If you see things you need to improve on (that if no improvement is made, it would negatively impact you), then of course make time to improve in those areas.
When it comes to achieving goals, the road is not always easy, so it makes sense to play to your strengths to reach your goals.
My strength is in problem solving. I have used that strength to help me in every aspect while striving to grow a successful business. (one that would afford me the opportunity to live my best life). When I embarked on this journey, there were weaknesses and mindset issues that were brought to light. I invested time, money and effort in professional and personal development while building my business and stayed on task using my strengths.
