Meet Laura Ellis

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Ellis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Laura, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?

I love the topic of self care and I have to say, I’m a big believer in the power of a good walk. Stepping out and giving myself some breathing room is crucial for clearing my head—it helps me connect the dots, solve problems, and spark creative solutions for my business. And when it comes to recharging, I consider myself something of a nap connoisseur! I’ve found that even a quick five-minute nap can work wonders, rejuvenating me and getting me back on track. Of course, it’s not always feasible to sneak in a nap when I’m with a client, but whenever possible, a brief pause does the trick. It’s all about finding those little moments to refresh and refocus.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

A bit about myself, well I grew up in NYC, went to college in the MidWest and landed here on the West coast! I was a dancer and actress for a lot of my life and worked as an Executive Assistant for many years in both NYC and LA and where I really honed in on my love for organizing.  I’ve also always had an adventurous spirit and love traveling, whether it’s to one of my favorite places, which has to be Italy or taking weekend trips to Palm Springs. I get so much from staying in motion and I just love experiencing worlds different from mine. I also recently found out I have Celiac and am currently on a mission to find the best gluten free bagel, lol.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
This is a juicy question, I love it. The three key qualities that have been instrumental in the growth of our business: an unyielding entrepreneurial spirit, steadfast perseverance, and a solid work ethic balanced with the wisdom to know when to step back. Mastering this balance and learning to actively listen to both clients and team members have been game-changers. If you’re on the fence about starting your own venture, here’s my advice: just go for it. Transitioning from employment to entrepreneurship meant I’ve had to work harder than ever before. However, this journey has been immensely satisfying, rewarding, creative, and energizing. Embracing this path has enriched my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined—I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, if you’re harboring a business idea, take the leap. It might just be the best decision you ever make.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Absolutely, we thrive on collaboration with designers, architects, and realtors. These professionals have a knack for creating or finding the perfect home for clients, driven by a passion that mirrors our own. This shared enthusiasm makes for a seamless partnership. Working together, we enhance the functionality and aesthetic of any space, ensuring that every home is not just perfectly styled but also perfectly organized. It’s a match made in heaven for us, and we’re always excited to join forces and bring our collective expertise to the table. Currently, we’re developing an innovative tool for designers and architects and can’t wait to share it!
