Hi Leilani, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
I mainly get my resilience from everything my parents and family taught me as a kid. I would say all the bad things I’ve experienced since I was born, but those are just traumatic experiences to me that greatly hindered my life.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Leilani Graceffa, I’m 23 years old, and I’m a writer, self-published author, and a photographer so far, and what I feel is most exciting and special about the things I do is the creative freedom. Something new I’ve been doing recently is 3D art, not the abstract type, but the storyboarding type, where I use 3D models and create different background environments for them.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The main skill that was, and is still, most impactful in my life is writing and being able to create and tell stories. Two pieces of advice I have for people who are early in their journey are keep going, and believe in yourself because you can achieve anything.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents have done a lot for me, so while I can’t pinpoint one most impactful thing they’ve done for me, I can tell you one particular memory that I can always look back on and be reminded that they’ve always believed in me. One of my birthdays before I reached 10, they bought me a guitar (because I’ve always loved music and I’ve been singing since I was in a car seat). Although I never really touched that guitar for years afterwards because of other reasons, that will always be one of my most impactful memories of my parents.
