Meet LENCIA MARSHALL

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LENCIA MARSHALL. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

LENCIA, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
I use it as a challenge. I am challenging myself to be the best in the room. Most times, people that look like me are underestimated and ignored in rooms where we are few. I make it to where I can’t be ignored and I wow people with my wisdom and knowledge. I take it as a personal quest to shift the narrative about the value that people who look like me bring to a high value room. People may call people who look like me uneducated, ghetto, and even thug, but my impact and presence will challenge those thoughts.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am an international speaker, author, retreat/conference facilitatorand accountability coach. It is exciting for me to watch people’s eyes light up from accomplishing their goals. I get just as excited cheering for them and pushing them to be their best selves. My brand targets those who need a them for them. The people who are out here making it happen for everyone else, but are too exhausted to make it happen for themselves. I am ecstatic to host The Wounded Healer Conference in Chicago, June 20-23. This is the space where the strong friends can let their hair down and be filled back up. I also have 2 courses that is changing the game for my digital marketing clients. Lastly, I am excited to announce that my 2025 retreat will be on Virgin Voyages out of Athens, Greece.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three areas of knowledge that were most impactful were: 1. Understanding that my friends and family won’t be the ones that build my business to 6 or 7 figures. Once I learned how to place people in their correct categories, it made my expectations easier to maintain. 2. NEVER lose my authenticity! My brand is known for transparency and authenticity, Losing that would dismantle my brand. People do not have to “read minds” to see through the fluff and identify if an individual is real or not. I don’t have time to do damage control over lies and deceit so I make it a point to stay true to who I am and what I stand for. 3. NEVER stop learning. No matter how long I have been doing what I do, I always find new things to learn about it and a better way to apply it. The best advice I can give is be quick to listen and slow to speak. Soak in as much as you can from experts in your industry. Strive to always be better today than you were yesterday. ASK QUESTIONS and apply the answers. Don’t be a collector of information that you never use.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to collab with other amazing people. I am looking to collab with content creators, affiliates, people wanting to add another stream of income. If that is you, shoot me an email at [email protected]. You could also visit my website at www.grindandgrace.info
