Meet Lesly Barnette

We were lucky to catch up with Lesly Barnette recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lesly, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
My generosity stems from experiencing a childhood where basic needs were often unmet. Raised by a single mother working tirelessly to provide for my brother and me, we lacked the resources others often take for granted. This upbringing instilled in me a profound understanding of perseverance, the value of hard work, and the importance of appreciating even the smallest blessings. It taught me that maintaining a positive attitude and a sense of gratitude can help overcome any challenge, no matter how daunting.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My work revolves around creating opportunities and fostering hope for the future through personal branding, personal development, and business growth. As the owner and creative director of Eminent Nutrition, and iPerform Nutrition. I also manage the schedules of busy elite business owners, enabling them to focus on their core expertise while expanding their presence through social media channels.

Furthermore, as the owner and founder of LOVE&MGMT, we specialize in content strategy, production, and brand management. Our approach is centered on understanding our clients’ visions, fostering authentic brand representation, and building trust through strategic partnerships. Our capabilities extend beyond social media, encompassing comprehensive digital marketing solutions.

Ultimately, I am passionate about building brands and transforming lives, and I am dedicated to providing hands-on, personalized support to our clients.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One crucial quality that has impacted my journey is the ability to approach life logically. This has allowed me to perceive situations from various angles and develop the skill of understanding why things occur. Embracing the belief that there is purpose in all circumstances and learning to view experiences positively, even amid challenges, has been invaluable.

Furthermore, the ability to communicate effectively and cultivate meaningful relationships is essential. Developing strong interpersonal skills and discerning the intentions of those within your circle are vital for personal growth. Nurturing the right relationships can significantly impact one’s journey.

For those early in their journey, I would advise them to focus on developing logical reasoning, maintaining a positive perspective, honing their communication skills, and being selective in their relationships. Embracing these qualities and skills can greatly influence personal and professional development.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my mom did for me was allowing me to be myself. She permitted me to make my own decisions and learn from my own mistakes. While she shared her thoughts and warned me about potential outcomes, she always respected my choices. Though not a perfect parent, her honesty about the uncertainties of parenthood and her unwavering effort left a profound impact on me. Her willingness to be honest and relentless in her support has been more impactful than anything else, shaping me into who I am today.
