Meet Levi Chaney

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Levi Chaney a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Levi, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my father. I grew up watching him work hard and provide for us so that inspired me. My goal is to provide for my family like he did for us. If you don’t put in the work you will not get the reward.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I graduated from Huston-Tillotson University In Austin, Texas. Being there helped me pull the entrepreneur out even more. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit building something from the ground up always excited me. Right now I’m a Realtor and partner at Kicking It sneaker boutique and this year I started a company with my wife and mother-in-law called Kreative Kreations & Kustoms where we make custom clothing and design our own items to sell. It has always been my goal to build a family empire. We have a 5-year anniversary coming up for Kicking It and we just re-launched our website for Kreative Kreations. I’m always taking in new clients to help them reach their goals of owning a home.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being authentic, and always being willing to learn has helped me not just in business but in life. I would tell anyone to build good relationships and put yourself around people you can learn from. If you are the smartest in your circle it’s time to grow your circle. Being yourself at all times is key. People will buy into you before your product.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
I read a lot of books, but a few that I have really enjoyed and applied their teachings are Think and Grow Rich, The One Thing, The Way of the Superior Man, The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, and any book about real estate that I come across and feel I should read. I took a lot of lessons from all of these books that I apply to my life now. Think and Grow Rich taught me how to keep the money I make and not blow it. The Way of the Superior Man helped me so much it’s crazy. I recommend this book to any man looking to grow in all areas of his life.
