Meet Liliana (aka- LR Kreations) Rodriguez

We recently connected with Liliana (aka- LR Kreations) Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.

Liliana (aka- LR Kreations), thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
In February 2017, after residing in Los Angeles for 15 years, I found myself at a crossroads when I was unexpectedly laid off from my job as a Product Development Manager at a fashion company. My time in Los Angeles had been marked by the tumultuous ups and downs of the fashion industry—quick turnovers, frequent relocations, and the constant search for new job opportunities and side hustles to stay afloat. This event marked the beginning of a challenging yet transformative journey that would ultimately shape my path as an artist. Amidst the uncertainty and upheaval, I made the courageous decision to return to my hometown, seeking refuge and support from my family in Sacramento. It was a pivotal moment of self-reflection, where I confronted the daunting question of what I truly wanted to pursue in life.

In the months that followed, I immersed myself in the local art community, exploring different mediums and techniques to channel my creativity. It was during this time that I rediscovered my passion for art.

As I delved deeper into my artistic journey, I found solace and catharsis in the act of painting. It became a form of self-expression, allowing me to channel my emotions and experiences onto the canvas. Through art, I discovered a newfound sense of purpose and fulfillment, transcending the confines of corporate life.

The challenges I faced in February 2017 became the catalyst for my growth and evolution as an artist. They instilled in me the resilience and tenacity to pursue my passion wholeheartedly, despite the uncertainties that lay ahead. And through dedication and perseverance, I fostered the essential habit of embracing creativity as a means of self-discovery and personal expression.

Today, as I reflect on my journey from corporate burnout to artistic fulfillment, I am grateful for the challenges that propelled me towards my true calling. They were not obstacles to be feared, but rather opportunities for growth and self-discovery. And through it all, I have emerged stronger, more resilient, and deeply committed to the pursuit of my artistic dreams.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Currently, I find myself deeply immersed in an array of thrilling projects that have ignited my creative spark. My brand is dedicated to the transformative power of art, with a focus on uplifting communities and revitalizing business spaces. From striking indoor and outdoor murals to bespoke logos, commissioned paintings, and even designing wine labels, I’m on a mission to infuse every corner of the world with the vibrancy of my artistic vision. This journey marks just the beginning of my artistic odyssey, and I am committed to continually pushing the boundaries of my creativity and exploring new horizons.

Exciting news—I’m thrilled to announce the debut of my latest collection, ‘Ignite Your Potential,’ which is currently on display at the Urban Hive. The response has been incredible so far, with two originals from the collection already finding new homes thanks to previous art shows.

But here’s a little secret that not many know about me: I also specialize in body painting. It’s a passion that began during my time in Los Angeles, where I found myself dabbling in the world of high-profile events like the Maxim parties and Playboy events. The human body became my first canvas, and to this day, I still indulge in the art of body painting whenever the opportunity arises. It’s a unique aspect of my creative journey that adds an extra layer of excitement and diversity to my portfolio.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1) There is never the ‘right’ moment to start your creative endeavors. ‘I’ll start painting once I have the perfect studio space’, I told myself. Transitioning from this limiting mindset requires a shift in perspective-a realization that there’s never truly a ‘right’ time. Life is full of uncertainties, and waiting for the stars to align mean waiting forever.

2) Throughout my journey, I’ve discovered that taking risks is crucial—regrets only come from missed opportunities. Living in Los Angeles, I learned to develop resilience and toughen up, facing life’s unpredictable twists and turns head-on. Despite the ups and downs, I’ve realized that every experience, no matter how challenging, holds a valuable lesson. It’s a reminder that beauty awaits us on the other side of uncertainty, urging us to embrace the unknown with courage and conviction.

3) Life experiences teach us how to problem solve and question what IS important to you.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client(s) would be:

• Community organizations seeking to uplift and inspire their members through public art installations or collaborative projects.

• Art enthusiasts who are drawn to my distinctive style and are eager to add original paintings or prints to their personal collections.

• Individuals who are inspired by my journey of resilience and personal growth, and who see my artwork as a reflection of their own aspirations and experiences.

Overall, my ideal clients would likely share a passion for creativity, a willingness to embrace new challenges, and a desire to make meaningful connections through art.
