Meet Lonny P

We were lucky to catch up with Lonny P recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lonny , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My parents definitely. They were definitely super hard workers. I don’t think I ever have seen my parents take a day off. That’s a trait I can truly say I inherited from them both.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a musical artist. I mainly rap. I’ve been super into music since I was a little girl. It’s exciting because it allows me to freely express myself no matter what mood I’m in. I have a new album coming out, which is actually my first ever album called “Mood Swings”. I gave it that name because I feel like I am super versatile and this body of work displays that.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Things that were impactful in my journey are consistency, great peers, and staying focused. Be consistent because the more people see you going after your dreams, the more it’ll draw people to listen. Have great peers so they can help keep pushing and supporting you through your journey. Stay focused because there’s lots of distractions that may come and push you to procrastinate or slow you down. My advice for people pursuing music is to never give up and stay consistent.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I’d say being confident and doing things at my pace versus everybody else’s. A lot of times i find that when i listen to others instead of myself in my journey it slows me down. So just trusting in myself and decisions that i feel are best can help me move faster in my journey.
