We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Loveli Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Loveli below.
Loveli, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we now how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
How did you overcome imposter syndrome?
Imposter syndrome (noun)
1. The persistent inability to believe that one’s success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved because of one’s own efforts or skills:
I remember being told that I was not smart and would never become anything worth noting by a teacher. I can still recall feeling upset and not wanting to ever feel that way again. I spent a lot of time working overtime to prove that I was highly intelligent and capable. I overcompensated in school, in life, and at work. I felt that I had to be the best, in my own eyes, just to feel as if I belonged in many rooms.
Then, after having my first child, I knew I had to change my outlook on myself. I wanted her to thrive in life. I wanted her to see her mother exuding confidence, real confidence. I knew that she would see through me if I pretended to belong. I started to empower myself with hobbies that made me happy. I started getting certified in trades that helped me see my strengths. I went to therapy to talk about my past. I wanted to remove the mountains and darkness that threatened my growth. I no longer feel like an imposter most of the time. I feel deserving of most of my successes. This does not mean that I do not experience anxiety. This does not mean that I do not need moments to recalibrate my thoughts. I am, however, willing to fight for my space in this world. You are not an imposter in your own life. You deserve all the accolades, celebrations, and acknowledgements coming your way.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Loveli. I am honored to meet you. I am an East Coast girl at heart. I am passionate about mental health, learning, reading, art, fashion, music, business growth and self-expression. My passion is to help others find their purpose in life from the inside out. I know that we can all benefit from learning healthier communication skills.
My goal is to help others learn how to better articulate their feelings so that each one of us are able to better advocate for ourselves and those whom we support. Healthy communication is a life skill.
My studies include law and mental health. I am certified as a Mental Health and Wellness Life Coach, CBT Cognitive Behavior Life Coach, Therapeutic Art Life Coach, Mindfulness and Success Life Coach, Relationship Workshop Facilitator Life Coach, Professional Life and Guide Coach, Life Purpose Coach, Creation for Life Coaches Practitioner, and Meditation and Consciousness Masterclass Coach.
I help people create purpose plans. A purpose plan is a personalized plan of action to help each person align their lives with their purpose. The purpose plan helps them target and improve in the following areas: mental health, emotional health, physical health, financial health, spiritual health, and sexual health.
I know what it’s like to look at myself in the mirror and not know who’s staring back at me. I know what it’s like to have to fight through each day just surviving the thoughts that run through your head. I know what it’s like to discover your purpose; be afraid of your purpose; embrace your purpose and walk in your purpose. Healing takes work. It takes bravery. It takes self-discovery. I continue to educate myself. I continue to have conversations and learn from others. I want to help you discover, explore, and walk in your purpose. Healing is a continuous process. We all deserve to discover and rediscover who we are without stress and continuous doubt. I can’t say it will be easy. I can tell you that you are purpose personified.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey were persistence, continuing my education, and a great support system. Persistence allowed me to accept failure and turn them into lessons. Continuing my education allowed me to advance in areas that helped me build my business and create a company that I am proud to call a success. Having a great support system continues to allow me to dream big, fall hard and get up the next day and do it all again.
My advice for folks who are early in their journey is to understand that failures are just lessons. Most failures are just signals telling you to readjust your plans. If you really love what you are doing, giving up is not an option. Persistence is getting up every day and giving you’re all to make your dreams come true.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
Yes, I am absolutely looking to collaborate with companies who are invested and interested in working with other companies who focus on the following areas: mental, emotional, physical, financial, spiritual, and sexual health and fashion. As well as, sponsorships and content creation. I am also looking for people to interview on my podcast, “Healing Through Conversations”. In this podcast we talk about our triumphs and failures in every aspect of life in order to help others feel less alone through conversations. We all have a story.
