Meet Maggie Fekete, E-RYT, CHC, BCHHP

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maggie Fekete, E-RYT, CHC, BCHHP a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Maggie, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My parents showed me what work ethic should look like and I simply respected and modeled their behavior. Luckily, I have always been surrounded by beautiful parental figures. I have been blessed with a large extended family, which thankfully meant more positive role models to influence my life. Not just my biological parents, but my stepmother and stepfathers. I honestly, dislike the word “step,” and I typically refer to all of them as my parents but chose to differentiate here to highlight the number rather than for you to assume I only have two parents. It is said it takes a village to raise a child. The five of them have been my village. I have honestly never met a more determined and driven group of individuals. Most kids dream of their biological parents being together forever but I am the poster child blessed by divorce. Endless gratitude extends to every one of my parents. The person I am today is largely due to them and their tireless work ethic.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Knowledge is incredibly powerful! At first glance, yoga is often only seen as a form of physical fitness or movement commonly referred to as asana. Over time, through education, my awareness expanded to include the most impactful and complete definition of this ancient Indian technology and science. Yoga is not limited to one quality, such as, asana. Yoga is also not limited by three qualities but rather eight! Yoga is physical movement but it’s so much more…it is how best to care for our internal and external environments. It is breathwork; control of our senses; concentration; meditation; and union of our body, mind, and breath.

Desiring to fully understand your area of practice in its entirety will ensure you develop and improve throughout your journey. Ironically, the more you learn, the more you may realize that you have only scratched the surface of awareness. Finding joy in the depth of a subject, rather than discouragement, is the key to contentment for a lifetime of learning and consciousness expansion.

At TheGuestBungalow.com – we teach the entire 8-fold path to enlightenment that is yoga!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Dehuel Juarbe, E-RYT, my favorite experienced and registered yoga teacher. He is my rock, my unwavering support. I consider him my most trusted advisor. He is often my very first phone call when a challenge is present in my path. I greatly appreciate his endless positivity and encouragement. I have never had someone believe in my mission and vision more profoundly. TheGuestBungalow.com and our extensive yogic library exists in an exceptionally large part because of his superb coaching skills.

I strongly encourage assigning and developing such a relationship as the heights reached will be astronomical in comparison to not having an advisor or coach on your team!
